(ah, another good idea (Morin) to send a Flyers prospect back for development -- ya know avoid the NHL injuries.... )
RonJeremy
Is be willing to bet my life that the Flyers have had the most injuries to defensemen than any other team over the last 10 years, now to continue us the trend ...we lose our top two defensive prospects to serious injuries. This is really a setback for Morin and especially Ghost. This was the year we wanted them to get lots of ice time and be ready to make the Flyers next year. The last thing you want is your best skating dman to tear up a knee. Un frigging real
pilldoc
are you freaking serious??? is this some type of cruel joke??? I swear to god this team is cursed / jinxed. What hockey god did they piss off? Who do we sacrifice to appease this hockey god..... unfreakin real...
DaGreatGazoo
Worst part is; if they really want him to play a season in the A. He may not be with the Flyers until late next season now. Just brutally bad luck....

RonJeremy
What did I say about us having the most injuries to our defenseman, and now Schenn is hurt. We were all talking about making moves and having a surplus of defenseman, and the injuries just keep coming. I guess you can never have enough defensemen, especially for our team. brelic
Sounds like he won't be playing again this season. Very scary and unfortunate for him. I hope he can have a great recovery. That can seriously derail an NHL career.

Mad Dog
Not good at all. The Flyers just can't catch ANY kind of break even when something *does* seem to finally start going their way. I hope this doesn't break Ghost's spirit. I feel terrible for him.
flyercanuck
Wow does that suck. That couldn't happen to Grossmann or Schenn, where you wouldn't even notice by their skating.

mojo1917
Good grief fellas , he isn't dead. He's young, his body will take the surgery and rehab better than if this happened when he's 29...if he works hard in rehab maybe those work habits sneak into his lifestyle, it could wind up being a positive.Sure it is a tough break ,but that injury isn't the end anymore, the kid seems driven it may make him better. King Knut
It'll almost definitely be a season ended. Might see a few games if the Phants go deepe into playoffs. So muh for his "development. "Really feeling little k zero confidence in this strategy for these guys at this point. Both kids who should have gotten time with the big club (time, not permanent spots) are down with injuries and now neither can "develop" anyway. Idiotic luck makes questionable choices seem utterly wasteful to me now. @billmeltzer: Bad news: Shayne Gostisbehere is out indefinitely with a torn ACL. doom88
@jammer2 McCrossin had nothing to do with it.@KingKnut patience. The young guys are not NHL material yet, and injuries happen at every level. This is the right course long-term, and expect there will be more rough spots. It's part of the development process, as opposed to the Edmonton "throw them in there and hope for the best", or the NYR "there's a roster hole, who's for sale" methods.Patience, with an eye for the long-term picture. Say around three years out.

OccamsRazor
But it certainly hinders his development for a season Or longer to many variables in there to know. Like for instance what kind of ligament he chooses for his replacement.....that will determine the healing time/process more than anything. Podein25
Isn't that why Grossmann is such a terrible skater?Yes, in part. Not good news, but with today's sports medicine I'm not sure it means the end of his career as a skater. Hell, can there be a player today that hadn't tweaked or partially torn a knee ligament, or the cartilage?

OccamsRazor
http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/11/07/big-mac-jeremy-maclin-having-career-year-after-acl-surgery/ Or it could require a couple surgeries and may never feel right especially if you come back too soon like Raffi Torres. He struggled as he never fully recovered from a torn ACL that required surgery and sidelined him for all but five games during the regular season. "At one point there I was just skating around and was just kind of like, 'What am I doing on the ice right now?' But hey, that's just part of it. You just had to be out there," Torres said. "I'll get healthy this summer and come back, come back stronger." Torres plans on resting his knee for a month or two. He developed an infection after he underwent a cleanup procedure once the Sharks were knocked out of the playoffs. Torres missed most of the previous season while recovering from a torn ACL and it looks like he'll miss most of the coming campaign as well. He suffered multiple infections in his repaired knee after the 2014 playoffs, but hasn't gone under the knife yet. Torres is expected to miss half of the 2014-15 regular season after he played in just five games last year and seven during the playoffs. So i'm praying for the for Ghost. It took me almost close to 2 year for me to be "100%" but i also tore my MCL too.

Based on my experience with ACL, MCL and cartilage damage, the thing that really became a problem was not the ligament damage itself, which was eventually repaired, but the build up of scar tissue over time. Limited the mobility.By this time, I was done playing competitively and not taking care of my knee with ultrasound and such to get rid of the scar tissue. For pro athletes I don't think this is as much of a problem.
