They were a combined -12 tonight. Amazingly Phaneuf was even somehow.

And Franson was even as well. Pretty remarkable when you think that only one of Nashvilles goals were scored on the PP and that both Franson and Phaneuf played 20 minutes each. What are the odds of that??

Lavy sucks as a coach. True story.

I really like trotz. its kind of funny to think how perception is that Trotz is a defensive minded coach and Lavy is an offensive minded coach. Last year under Trotz, Nashville was a -26 in goal differential. This year under Lavy, thus far, they are a +15. Go figure.

Seems like there's a chance Laughton centers Schenn and Voracek. I like that WAY better than having Hamburglar on the top line and moving Schenn to the middle.

I think they may be to much to fast....AHL to 1st line center in the NHL your time this season during a callup. I think Berube will ease him into the lineup.....3rd line centering VLC and RJ. My guess anyways.

Line Meltzer posted on his blog.....

18 R.J. Umberger - 10 Brayden Schenn - 93 Jakub Voracek

24 Matt Read - 14 Sean Couturier - 17 Wayne Simmonds

36 Zac Rinaldo - 78 Pierre-Edouard Bellemare - 40 Vincent Lecavalier

76 Chris VandeVelde - 49 Scott Laughton - 42 Jason Akeson

So Zac on the 3rd......Hhhhhhhmmm that should make for 5-10 more pages of arguements on the Zac.....um excuse me...discussions! ;)

Let me see:  Schenn at Center, where Berube has steadfastly refused to play him.  Umberger on the 1st line, even though he's been the worst forward for the Flyers so far. VLC on wing, where he has stated he hates to play.  Rinaldo on the 3rd line and a 4th line that is literally an AHL line.

I try not to be one of "those" Philly fans, but "ouch", is pretty much all I can say.

These line combos (1st and 3rd in particular) have "disaster" written all over them; I'd be shocked if they make it through a whole period (let alone a whole game) intact.

Completely agree.  Fortunately, my sons have a HS game tonight, so I have an excuse to miss the 1st 2 periods.  Maybe by the 3rd, things will be "all better"   :thumbsu:  :thumbsu:

Hopefully someone came to their senses and realized what an absurd idea it would be to have Umbsy on the top line.

Yet his production is on the rise. Weird.

He's been playing LW, predominatly, right?  Honest question-- I haven't watched a lot in the last few weeks.  I remember the Flyers saying they were going to play him at LW and leave him there.  I'm fine with that; kid has bounced all over the place.  So, he plays a lot of LW(making an assumption he has), seems to be getting comfortable, has produced over the last 5+ games, and then they switch him back to to center?   Yeah, it's only until Giroux gets back......

Honestly, don't get what Berube does most of the time.  He obviously has his reasons, but damn, if I can figure any method behind his madness.

that about sums it up. Certainly we can add more re: the defense.

He's one of the top hockey minds Homer knows.

What? That's not enough of an endorsement for you?
