Who is/was the greatest playmaker not named Gretzky, Lemieux or Orr?

 

IMO, these are the best players that have the best case for best playmaker. ( We are only judging these players by their playmaking ability, nothing else.)

his stats are quite impressive considering the fact that he started his career in the dead puck era, three times he hit the 90 assist mark. he made Jonathan Cheechoo look better than he actually was( no slight on Cheechoo, he was a pretty good player before the injury but did anyone really think he would hit 55 goals?)

He didn't lead the league in assists as much as he could have due to playing with the Jesus and Allah of offensive production, but he was quite the underrated player and helped Brett Hull with his 70 and 80 goal seasons, because after he left ST Louis, Brett Hulls goal scoring took a significant drop.

You might think its too early to put him in, but i say **** it. If a baby can dominate against men, then she sure as hell deserves recognition. Best playmaker of her generation, she probably has the best hockey IQ since Lemieux and Gretzky. it REALLY IS UNFORTUNATE that injuries delayed what could have been an even greater career than he has now

It was just satire, because thats what i see people that dont like Crosby complain about, secondary assists....getting all his points on scrub teams... A notable omission from the list is Bobby Clarke. I count only 11 players who have had more assists in a single season than Clarke.

Anyways, ill homer cast my vote. Back to back 90 assist seasons have only been done by Wayne, Mario and Joe. And a 70 assist season these days would have been 90ish back in the 80's. Come to think of it, his back to back 90 assist seasons would have been in the 120+ in the 80's.
