Laughton,Schenn or Coots

Trading Simmonds?? He's a heart and soul guy and our top scorer. We'd create a new hole to fill one.

If I had to guess, I would say Brayden Schenn is the most likely to be traded, especially the way Hextall spoke of Couturier at the year end presser. I still don't think he'll be traded.

If we get Crouse, I think Schenn stays. If we get a Werenski or Provorov, they could deal defensive depth to land a winger.

Can't see b schenn traded. I think you have to have your center spots as g,schenn, coots. Fill in the forwards around that trio. Trading b schenn would open up a huge hole in center because the only centers we have in the system are best suited for 3c... Coots spot. He would be most likely gone. But I'm not sure I make that move. Draft best forward available and see if he makes team. Preferably left wing. On d? Well I would trade two of streit, grossman , mcdud. Allow kids to play or sign vet dmen on one year contracts to give kids another year to develop. L schenn I'm confused on. He was our best d man last playoffs. He was a beast when he first came over. Did Berube really screw this kid up so much? Or is a waste of space. I'm not done with him yet.

Not to be a pot stirrer, but don't leave Giroux off the player to be moved list. I'm not suggesting it, but he would get the most bang for your buck, and if Hextall thinks the rebuild is years out it is not unthinkable. The Kings built a cup winner on big boy philosophy down the middle and Giroux is not Kopitar or Carter ,

Nobody on the Flyers should consider themselves bigger than the team. Chip Kelly just gave a clinic on how to handle that problem. Just being young shouldn't be a qualifier, very few players go from being lead to gold in the NHL. They either have it or they don't. I hope Hextall does better than Homer picking drafts picks that really count.

Not to be a pot stirrer, but Philly isn't the Kings...and they didn't make the playoffs this year. We already have the blueprint for that.

Who will go to bring LW or other help back? So bored but what player will surprised you that will be traded or not? Going with Simmons traded and L Schenn not. Come on draft.

None of the above?

Hexy won't trade Laughton until he has a better handle on what kind of player he'll be.

Schenn is right on the bubble I think.  I'm not sure they're ready to give up on him, but I'm not sure he still looks to have enough "potential" for other teams to give us much for him.

Schenn and Coots actually looked pretty decent as linemates at the end of the year.

If anyone goes I expect it would be Laughton or Schenn right now Coots is already too valuable with too much potential up shot still to be had.

Ultimately we need to see all three playing for the new coach and some semblance of a transition game before it can be judged.

Giroux being traded is a very real possibility.  It actually makes sense.

If Hextall does that, he should just blow the whole thing up. Move Giroux to Buffalo for Reinhart, Ristolainen, Pysyk and Buffalo's late first. Then, move Voracek to Florida for Huberdeau and Gudbranson. In those two moves, the right side of the defense has been completely rebuilt and the Flyers get a young center who's upside is that of a franchise center.

Like the G trade but to much from Buffalo and plus they want to grow their own team! I say keep Jake. We need some veteran help on the ice and in locker room

They're also getting a top five center in the game who will be able to shield Eichel for the first little while. As well, when you really think of it, they're giving up one roster player for Giroux. Pysyk has been stuck in Rochester and couldn't crack the roster. Reinhart might be a legitimate center, but he'd be stuck behind Eichel and Giroux and he wouldn't exactly bump Girgensons from the third line role.

As for the Florida trade, there's plenty of veteran help coming back. Gudbranson has been in the league for awhile and Huberdeau knows his way around. Plus there'd still be Simmonds, Couturier, Raffl, etc.....left in Philadelphia. There's veteran leadership in the locker room.

True....the only problem with that is they were great together when Schenn was playing RW in place of an injured Simmonds.  What do you do with Schenn when Simmonds reclaims his 2nd line RW spot?

Trade him for a LW I suppose ;)

How about putting him on line 4 with Vinny and letting Laughton take over 3rd line C?

Why would Hextall trade them? What's he going to get for them that he needs?

Besides a LW with a decent shot, the two things this team needs most are a coach with a brain and some Time to shed the dead weight of Ridiculous Homer contracts and to develop the young D corps.

Someone to teach them a thing or two in the shootout wouldn't hurt either.

I said that if Hextall were to blow it up, then yes, dealing Giroux and Voracek would be the way to go. I'm not advocating making any move. However, if the Flyers feel that they're more than 2 or 3 seasons away from being serious Cup competitors, then yes, blowing things up might not be such a bad thing.
