Seems there are big changes on the horizon....

It wont let me copy and paste the article or the link to the website but the article is on the Flyers main website...

It must be Clarke and Holmgren making these moves because we all know they love Russian players! :confused[1]:

He is American...who was playing in Russia. He is a body for the Phantoms.

He's 25...got drafted #44 overall by the Blues, who have since lost his rights. Had a legit year for the Charlotte Checkers a 3 years ago...don't know why his KHL stats sucked so badly....failed to make it with the Habs also. Young enough to be a prospect still, when factoring in the KHL time etc....time will tell, but he has a LONG road ahead of him to the NHL. All these signings send a clear message to me....Hexy was not happy with the Phantoms last year and wants a complete overhaul.

Nah, its just a depth move.  This guy is a borderline NHL/AHL player and left for Russia because he couldn't stick on a team.  Hextall is using him to fill the AHL team and use as a call-up if needed.  I like Hextall's decision making about putting "good" vets on the AHL team to help mentor the next generation, and also give them legit competitions for ice time.

@JJMason33  None of my above post lead me to believe I was stating anything other than depth.....never made the NHL, bad stats in the KHL....does not exactly scream NHL player to me. I think it's a Phantoms move...and possible emergency call up depending on how he performs down there....I'm willing to bet he's a better than average skater though, think that is where Hexy is going with the Phantoms....wants a quicker team.

Yeah this kid is next year's version of Blair Jones or Andrew Gordon...guys when in a pinch can be called up and play in the bottom 6 no more...Phantom material best case scenario he could be the next Van De Velde....
