Dupuis Cleared

So will he have the same drive he was showing before illness? I think so. He's had a LOT of rest the past two seasons, and is a guy who works out very intensely. Assuming he returns at full speed, where does he play?

According to the Penguins website:  http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=786733&cmpid=pit-twt-penguins

Pens forward Pascal Dupuis will not play tonight against the Edmonton Oilers.

Dupuis was taken to the hospital as a precaution prior to the game after experiencing symptoms that may or may not be related to his blood clot history.

“We’ve said all along that Pascal’s health is the highest priority,” general manager Jim Rutherford said. “We will take every precaution necessary to ensure he is in good health.”

Then he should retire from the game, or watch it while on LTIR.

Will this be the end of Dupuis?

He stated when coming back that if he had issues he'd retire.   It has to be seen if this is actually the same type issue or not.  If it is, then for the sake of his family he should retire.

Hate seeing a guy who's heart is in the game get forced out of it early. He was never quite himself again on the ice and now we know why...

Such a shame for a guy who gives you 100% every time he hit the ice.  He's the kind of guy who helps define what intangible means.   He'll be missed on the ice and in the locker room.   Do a good thing here Pens and find a place for him in the organization.

Sad to see him go but relieved as well. Clearly, it's time.  When "not feeling well" = chest pains (now disclosed as the reason he left the San Jose game) it's time to hang up the skates.

Here's to a long and happy post-hockey career for him.  Per Jonathan Bombulie of the Trib he will have a job waiting for him with the Pens once the season is up.
