@pilldoc  The Flyers did the right thing here. As Hexy said, this draft is critical in the Flyers rebuild. Ivan has the least probabity of being a bust, he was the safest pick. His skating is the most refined out of any of the top ranked d-man. We heard Hakstol values strong skaters, so nice to see them follow through with that philsophy. On the TSN telecast, they mentioned Ivan  had a mean streak, I had not heard that about him....so, we have the anti-Russian here. He's been  over here playing long enough that he has totally developed inot a North American game.

We now have 2 legit top pairing guys in Provorov and Sanheim....and for the first time ever, seeing a potential 2nd pairing of Morin and Ghost....this team has absolute SICK depth on defense now. It's overwhelming to consider how much talent we have on the back end. If these guys all develop quickly, then Mason will still be in his prime when they are all contributing.

Can't wait for the season to start now!!   Werenski went right behind Ivan, will be interesting to track their respective careers and see who comes out on top.

While I'm disappointed that they didn't go with Crouse (I really think he's going to be a very good forward and he's going to be an even better pro), I can't complain about Provorov. That's an all world defense Hextall is building and if they end up selecting Juulsen with the second first round pick they have, that's going to be a wild defense group going forward. That might just be the best defensive prospect group I've ever seen in Philadelphia and someone from that group will emerge as a legitimate number one defender. Wouldn't it be something if Morin, Sanheim and Provorov all became legitimate number 1 guys.

Hey boys... I can't tell you how happy I am about this puck. We have the best defensive prospect pool on the NHL.

On a bittersweet note I lost my mother today to a long battle... I will be out of pocket for a while but look forward to talking to everyone in the near future.

Provorov was the right pick. Prov, Sanheim, Morin, Gost, Haag... looking good

So sorry to hear about your loss.  I lost my dad in '99 and know the pain of losing a parent.
