King Knut Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Damn he's Canadian. Oh well. Now non the Vinny and RJ!
OccamsRazor Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Damon he's Canadian. Oh well. Now non the Vinny and RJ! Ask Obama how to fix that.....
Cheesesteak Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Maybe a Senator...if he can trade Vinny, then he can run for President.
King Knut Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 Ask Obama how to fix that..... What always cracked me up about that (because I think it's kind of a silly rule that had no literal interpretation) is that McCain was the one who was definitely born in another country and then had it fixed later by an act of congress. But no one ever brought it up. Just goes to show how silly it all was. I say hextall can run for whatever he wants.
OccamsRazor Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I say hextall can run for whatever he wants. I agree.....and yet i don't feel he is done....in Hexy we trust!
Samifan Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 If he can get rid of VLC and Bumberger, Hextall should have a National Holiday named after him!
FD19372 Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 No. Hextall should be made President of the Philadelphia Flyers immediately. Holmgren, you've been impeached. Resign like Nixon.
Bertmega Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I remember all the "in Holmgren we trust" non-sense from 2007-08. Where'd that loving feeling go?
flyercanuck Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 @Bertmega Holmgren started out doing and saying the same things Hextall did. No more trading youth for aging players. Use draft picks wisely. Etc.etc. He actually even started out doing just that. Then he went the total opposite and destroyed the team.
AJgoal Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I think as long as Snider lets him have his way, Hextall will stay committed to this path. Holmgren learned under Clarke, Hextall learned under Lombardi. The Kings are running a bit tight against the cap, but the team is well constructed, and they've used targeted free agent signings and trades as opposed to grabbing the best players they thought were available and trying to shoehorn together a roster. I'll trust Hextall until he starts veering off course.

I remember when the term "HolmgeniusTM " was being bandied about on Philly.com and it first it looked to be true...then he began mismanaging the cap and making really suspect moves and that moniker was out the window.

It really did start to become clear that the "good things" were the nuts found by the blind squirrel and they became fewer and farther between.

I have a feeling Hex is going to be his own man is going to do stuff the "right way" (aka adapting to the realities of the post lockout(s) NHL). Whether that translates to a Championship or not depends on a lot but at least I feel that we have the chance to win in this version of the league if he at least does stuff the "right way".
Bakanekimiwa Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 oh man.. this gif is so amazingly awkward. there is no parsing that reaction. pretty genuine annoyance right there.
