ScottM
We begin the rapid expansion era with the NHL's 1991 entry, the San Jose Sharks. As you might expect from a team that's only about a quarter of a century old, there's plenty of depth at some positions, while others are lacking. Anyway, here's the roster: First Line: Jeff Friesen, Joe Thornton, Owen NolanSecond Line: Dany Heatley, Patrick Marleau, Jonathan CheechooThird Line: Marco Sturm, Joe Pavelski, Milan MichalekFourth Line: Ryane Clowe, Logan Couture, Devin Setoguchi First Defensive Pair: Dan Boyle, Brent BurnsSecond Defensive Pair: Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Sandis OzolinshThird Defensive Pair: Gary Suter, Brad Stuart Goaltenders: Evgeni Nabokov, Antii Niemi, Arturs Irbe Coach: Todd McLellan The centers and the goalies were pretty clear-cut to me. The wingers were much less so. Did I go high with Heatley? I readily admit that I may have, but he had two high quality seasons with the team whereas they're pretty lacking overall at left wing. I could have gone Ron Wilson with the coaching slot as he was a little better in the playoffs, but my gut said McLellan. Okay, J0e, you can now rip me to shreds.
