Well, here we go again.  This is another game that will require a near-perfect performance on our part to win.  Dumb penalties, sloppy rebounds, and blown coverage will be grounds for summary execution.  Years back I expressed hope we'd land Trotz as coach.  His body of work is impressive. He has some amazing clay to mold.  Maybe we'll score in the first period--probably a decent predictor of how we'll do for the game.

Best,

Howie

My lineup changes in bold.

Well for whatever reason it won't let me highlight Medvedev's name it let me do Gagner name but not his ah f**k it.

Man this update is downright aggravating as s**t!!!

No Couts = No Win

This one could get ugly...

Yes it could get ugly it's why i suggested inserting some more skill in Gagner and Medvedev. You could scratch RJ or Vandevelde and  Schultz who let's be honest is a liability around his own net and at least Medvedev can skate and move the puck, has a rocket from the point....Schultz has none of this. Sure Medvedev could get better around the net too but he brings waaaay more to the lineup than Nick.

LaBarbera was recalled this morning. Mason has an undisclosed LBI

Which is interesting, because reports have Mason skating today.

As one guy pointed out on the Twitters - "uninjured" Mason didn't skate yesterday; "injured" Mason skating today.

Which is, of course, par for this particular course.

Yep, top team in the league, Flyers roll to a 5-3 win with Umberger scoring a hattie in his 6 minutes of ice time tonight.........

P.S. Just kidding about the Umberger hattie..I have better odds of hitting the powerball drawing 3 weeks straight.........

I love how they just decide to call that for diving. So many others that they dont call, but they choose that one

LOL Umberger. Wide open net, all the time in the world, goalie is down, he shoots it right at him

I have no problem with that call, Jake sold it over the top...He flopped like Marchand on that one. That being said, they need to call the same thing when the Caps do it too.

Not win against the top team in the NHL....but a lot of work left to be done...Ryan White said it best.......

While it was important for the Flyers to head into the break avoiding a four-game losing streak, White was quick to point out they've been through this before and came out flat.

"We had a big win before Christmas and it didn't really mean much," he said. "We came out and lost three in a row. We just have to be a consistent group and be ready every night."

AMEN!!!!
