Recommended Posts

Thanks for the clarification, can never remember when OTL started, when it was just 5 mins. sudden death.

Well his chances to win it surely take a hit without G not in the lineup....just like i knew without him his streak would more than likely end....like it did...without G the Flyers have a bunch of puck hog forwards (excluding Jake) who will only look to pass at the worst time...sorry but it's true.

Gostisbehere has established two rookie records so far.  Have the other top guys even combined for half as many records?

Panarin has Most Bandwagons Jumped. :CelebratingSmiley2:

Who wouldn't sign with the champs...but it certainly doesn't hurt playing on the best team in the league.

Forget Ghost winning rookie of the year.  After seeing the NHL give the rookie of the month award honors to McDavid, despite Gostisbehere's 15-game point streak it's clear... the McDavid is the NHL's new Crosby.

McDavid will win rookie of the year.

No Gostisbehere for Team N America yet. If he's omitted, would seem he's living up to 'Ghost', would go along w/snub of FEB Rookie of Month.

"Yet" is probably the key word. I have to think that the Team NA management is very strongly considering him. The four defensemen listed have an average of 180 career games played to Ghost's 44. IMO, he'll be there in the end.

BTW, how fast is THAT team so far? Holy sh|t.

I would think he should certainly get some consideration.

Ghost has scored 15 goals so far. EVERY SINGLE ONE has either tied the game or put Philly ahead. That's pretty damn clutch in my opinion.

Nice defensive play i say.

He had one just like that in the NCAA championship....that's when I started thinking he wasn't just all offence.

Ghost's anticipation is all-world. Once he has some experience in the bugs, he should become a decent D-man. He should watch Enstrom play D in Wpg, who gets grief from some fans, but that's usually about his contract. Enstrom's positioning is really solid. And he's just little.

Well, Ghosts streak of having all his goals either tie the game or put Philly ahead by one came to an end last night. He scored the 4-2 go ahead goal....which became the eventual game winner against the team they're chasing down for the final playoff spot!

Clutch Cargo!

Ghost has been a big part of that incredible run. So I'd say he's deserving of whatever credit he's getting.

You know, the other night I was leaving the local ice rink after practice and the game was on the TV in the lobby.  A parent of one of the kids I coach glances over and says "Ghost got another point tonight".  We then started talking about the kid, and how he has almost singlehandedly become the reason many are watching the Flyers again.  Just as we're saying that, Ghost makes a terrific defensive play by anticipating a pass, using his speed, and eliminating the chance the other way - all inside

When Ghost made that deke move at the blueline and then rang it off the post with around 5min left vs Winnipeg last night, you could see the confidence in him.  Just after that, on the same shift, Ghost was carrying the puck through the neutral zone aggressively attempting to deke the opposing defenders.  It wasn't a mark of a new-to-the-NHL kid.  It was confidence.   Which is why it surprised me that Hakstol didn't get him right back out out on the ice.  Surprised me even more when du

Ghost brought life to the Flyers team. He helped make them a playoff team, and is definitely one of the fun guys to watch in this league.    But if you're going to say McDavid didn't play enough games, can't the Panarin corner say the same about Ghost? Or do we draw the line where it conveniently suits us Flyer fans?   To me Panarin, as great as he is, played 6 seasons of pro hockey and had Kane playing next to him. He definitely had the most help, agewise and teamwise.
