Just noticed Ghost on the first pairing with MDZ. Was it like that last game? I didn't watch.

He has really impressed a lot of people.

Yes, he was on the top pairing with MDZ last game against Montreal.  They seemed to play well together and we won, so I guess Hakstol is sticking with that pairing for now.

So what do people think of Gagner playing with Cooter and Schenn? I'm not paying attention, was MTL their first game together?

It's probably better than having Raffl there with Umberger in the lineup, and Gagner as a healthy scratch. I don't think Gagner really fits on lines 3 or 4 - BUT, I will say that he and Laughton looked good early in the season when they were together.

Ya Mtl was that line's debut. Schenn looked real good Couturier too but Gagner seemed like he wasn't ready for offense, wasn't in step. I guess he's too used to checking line duty. More than once those 2 pushed the play and Gagner flubbed his pass or was too far ahead or behind to join them. So hopefully tonight they mesh a little better and I think they will.

Weird, sounds like Gagner just had a bad game, shaking the rust loose a bit. On paper and in theory, he should be a good fit for winger with Coots IMHO

i thought the same thing about that line... i definitely thought it would have been more effective than it was...let's hope it's rust, to me on paper, that line should be pretty  good offensively.

Ya that's prob all it was, rust and the change of skating with guys who actually attack the net. I bet they play much better together tonight.

I would put him with Laughton and Raffl on the "4th" line and Read with Couturier and Schenn. I would still up the minutes of the "4th" line  too. BALANCE CAN BE GOOD!

Did the Preds hire the Caps PA announcer? Another guy screaming like he is calling a monster truck show. FLYERS PENALTY TWO MINUTES FOR HOOKING AND HERE COMES GRAVE DIGGER!!

I think Mason was heroic.  Shea's blast was virtually unstoppable; only one I'd say he was responsible for (2nd goal, bad rebound control).  Simmonds is on a tear. Just think if we had secondary scoring every night....

Wow. Rinne shelled for 6 goals on 19 shots. Nashville with 40 shots.

Not the same goalie he used to be when he had a defensive system in front of him

Funny thing was he made some awesome stops or the score would have been 10-3 and really only one goal he let in was maybe his fault. The lack of chances kept any shot of him developing some kind of rhythm. Great quality chances for the Flyers and pretty solid game for Mason too.
