Craig Button put out his version of the top 50 prospects affiliated with NHL franchises. Leaf pick William Nylander takes the top spot followed by Strome, then Dvorak (both Arizona) and then Ivan Provorov. Sanheim comes in at 23 and Konecny at 29.

Don't forget Myers at 38

It will be nice to have some nice size on the blueline for a change....and i mean guys that can move around...

Provorov 6-1 Sanheim 6-4

Ghost 5-11 Morin 6-7

Hagg 6-1 Meyers 6-5

That biggest most mobile set of defensemen i have ever seen on the Flyers (and yes i know only Ghost is the only one who has actually made it) just projecting!!!

Was just taking a closer look at Button's list and some surprises, to me at least. One is Conor Garland, ranked 22nd, above Sanheim. He's only 5'8" 163 lbs, 5th round pick of Arizona last June. Another is Jake Walman, D a Blues 3rd rounder from 2014 who plays NCAA.

Any other names surprise folks?

Button always has surprises on his lists...that's why I like them. He doesn't just go with what everyone else is saying, he thinks out of the box. At the very least it makes for interesting conversation.

Dvorak at 3 seems high to me. I can't comment on college guys...rarely see  them play.

Do you know anything about these Jr.Colts, are some of the OHL Colts property?

Hockeyprospects.com released it's February top 75 rankings.  I've seen Ryan Poehling and Ramssusen in and around the 11-15 mark. I don't think they last past that point. So, if you make the playoffs, you will be out of the running for these two fine prospects. Maybe we should start to bench Mason, before he takes us out of contention for these kids.

Wasn't able to read it...Barrie usually drafts at least one kid out of there though. I know Christian Taylor is a Colts pick...I think Nastasiuks got another kid playing (he played for the Argos, his son Zack was a 2nd round pick of the Wings) as does Corcoran (I play against his galoot of a father).

Yeah, the Spits use the Jr.Spitfires the same way.
