So let me get this right....Mcdud goes from the AHL to the top pair in the NHL??????????? Are you kidding me this has disaster written all over it...i guess Medvedev will be traded real soon it seems he has found a permanent spot in Hak's doghouse...

...and blueline with defensive lackies in it like Streit, Schultz, Manning and now Mcdud is a top 5 pick lineup..............yikes!

OC I got a bad feeling of 5-1 loss tonight. This team is paper thin, down Coots and now MDZ not boding well heading to the Garden. And MacDud....I don't even know what to say to that, he's in the A because he sucks and he's getting paid like a Top 2.

Best part of this game will be seeing if any of these yappers actually have enough nut to go after Simmonds. Which always cracks me up, we need to retaliate against the retaliator. God I hate the Rags

Out of probability, this is a win for the New York Rangers. Only your first line can compete with the rangers...

You guys have the better individual players (excluding Henrik Lundqvist) but their depth is undeniably superior. They have two players with 40 points, three players above 30 and sixplayers with atleast 20 points. In contrast, you guys have two players above 40 points, three players with atleast 30 and one player above 20 points...

So you have exactly six players above 20 points while they have 11 players that have more then 20 points... and that's only offense.

Funny you should say that. Is this in your head or just attempt at stirring us up?

In both games the the 1st line hasn't even a goal just 2 points...

...in the game the Flyers shut the Rangers out 3-0 Coots scored who was centering the 2nd line and Simmer scored the other 2 goals...as well who was also on the 2nd line...

...then in the 3-2 loss in the shootout.....Ryan White who was on the 3rd score and Ghost well you know where he plays...

...so this i would say flys in your face on the comment only the Flyers 1st line can compete with the Rangers...

...your serve...

Jeepers...would be nice to have some sustained offense. They are playing a disciplined game. But they are making it easy for Henryk. Sixteen shots half way through the third.  Mason has been outstanding. Stepan's goal. was easy with nobody on that side of the net. Yikes.

WTF did Mcdud just abandon his side of the damn ice???? Goddamn then they had a wide open net.

Mason should sue for non-support. Our lack of skill on offense shows but the D's shortcomings rate right up there. This will be a "confirming loss."  I admire Hakstol for pulling the goalie...he wants players to compete.

AMac left the front to chase the puck carrier, Mason was out of the net, White didn't cover the front, and Ghost was nowhere to be found.  Systemic failure.

I don't no but it seems to me that Giroux is a bit off like he's hurt

Expected this outcome with AMac on the ice. The guy just continues to show that he is not NHL caliber. Whistles were half put away for this game anyhow......

As great and dynamic as Gostisbehere is with the puck, he's terrible in his own zone. Some times his speed can make up for it, but he is not very good positionally or physically when he doesn't have the puck.

I pray to God that Timonen comes into the organization this summer to work with the defense.

I have to concede...this team needs Couturier back.  I don't know why they need him so much but they do.  Their play has been terrible since he went down.

Having said that, I thought they could have used something that Couturier usually doesn't bring to table.  The Rangers were fired up last night and they took it to the flyers from the opening whistle.  So I was thinking, if a Ranger took a swing at giroux and knocked him out a week ago, who would the flyers throw out there to set the physical tempo.  I'm not talking about fighting...I'm talking about sending a swarm of forwards to finish checks in the corners to show that they won't be pushed around.  Simmonds can throw a hit but he's not a guy that will usually come in with a lot of speed and take a guy off his skates.  Schenn can throw his body around but it's rare.  White seems to miss every big check attempt.  After that, nobody can fit that role.

As soon as simmonds fights, 50% of the talent and 75% of the team's toughness leaves the ice for 5 minutes.  Then he sits in the box for 5 minutes loosing his intensity for the rest of the game.  I have no problem with simmonds answering the bell, but I do have a problem with the flyers not being able to back simmonds up when he goes to the box.

Speaking of simmonds, Tanner Glass should be embarrassed.  He talks a big game all week and then he sends a guy out that out weighs simmonds by 45 lbs to do what he said he was going to do.  Then he takes on a guy that is a lot less tough in white.  Actually white went after him but my point is that he stayed away from simmonds.

And lastly, MacDonald is a joke, streit is finished, shultz was never meant to be a regular, and the rest of the defense isn't very good in its own zone.

Yes it was and it all started with him. Strange how he was on the ice doing absolutely nothing helpful during all 3 goals against....purely coincidental i'm sure...

I agree.  I don't mind manning on the third pair whatsoever.  I don't understand Hak's thought process sometimes.  If a guy is struggling, he scratch him, but puts in someone worse.  Like if read stuggles, he'll replace him with Umberger.  If Medvedev struggles, he'll put in MacDonald.  I know they all played last night but wouldn't manning be the obvious replacement.  Even if manning struggles, he's still better than MacDonald.

I knew that as soon as the game became about Wayne Simmonds and who's going to get after him for the hit on McDonagh, and I saw Lundqvist in the other net, I knew the team would play the way they did. They were totally out of focus against a team with a chip on its shoulder. They showed no signs of life whatsoever until they were down 2. The loss to the Devils was the killer of the season, though, not this one. They are playing a little bit of Berube-esque coached hockey, which is starting to annoy me. Also, why the hell is MacDud playing?
