eleven24
One of these 3 teams will at worst get the 8th seed. Forget looking at Detroit. If Boston can't get more than 10 points out of their possible 14 points, the Flyers can go 6-3 and still make the playoffs. Atlantic BOS 86 (7 games: @TOR, @NJ, @STL, @CHI, CAR, DET, OTT) DET 85 (8 games: PIT, BUF, @MTL, MIN, @TOR, PHI, @BOS, @NYR) Metro PHI 85 (9 games: @ARI, WPG, WAS, OTT, @PIT, @DET, TOR, PIT, @NYI) Scenario #1. Boston loses to STL and CHI and wins the rest, finish 5-2 with 96 points, takes 3rd in Atlantic. Detroit goes 5-3 they end with 95 points. Flyers go 6-3 finish with 97 points (WC). Scenario #2. Boston still goes 5-2, 96 points. DETROIT goes 6-2 ends with 97 points (3rd in Atlantic). Flyers 6-3, 97 points (WC). This is just the scenario with Boston & Detroit. Pittsburgh and the Islanders, of whom the Flyers have 3 games with are all within striking distance.

If they don't have a good road trip, there's lots of pressure on them at home to win out. I like our chances...

They beat the Habs last night, but only just barely and the Habs themselves are a team without their two best players.
