The Unlikely Hero: Jimmy Howard?

I didn't think I would be saying this, but along with the resurgence of the PP, the other reason for the Red Wings still being seriously in the hunt for a playoff spot is...Jimmy Howard.

I know there's many on here who don't think he has what it takes to win a cup, and I won't argue that. But right now, he apparently has what it takes to get this team to the playoffs, and Mrazek...well...hate to say it, but right now, no, he doesn't. To some degree, I want to see Jimmy do well if not to see the Red Wings win, but also to increase the chance that we might be able to dump his contract, perhaps in an expansion draft?

Whatever the case, I'm glad he is playing solid. Our D hasn't exactly been helping him, and although he hasn't been perfect, he's been good enough.

Jimmy's problem has been and always will be his consistency.  He's on the up of the roller coaster right now, but hang on when the coaster goes down hill.

There's the roller coaster called Howard I warned about.

Well, history was certainly agreeing with you, as did last night's performance.

I suppose the trick, then, is to know when he's going up or down, and play him intermittently.
