Voracek -- Playing through injury?

We can all see he isn't back to being himself even in this down season of his.  He started slow and frustrated in the begninning of the season, came into his own for a bit mid-season then the injury.   We all hoped he would return to form but it's not happened yet.

I was reading a post by Meltzer and stumbled onto some comments.    Someone mentioned that at the end of the season there will be a report about him still being injured.

Meltzer replied with the response below.

Although it sucks that he is still hurt and trying to play through it, it's good to know that it is something that's dogging him vs him just flat out sucking....

To me Jake doesn't look like he's having a hard time moving - looks plenty fast. He was fighting the puck a bit when he first got back in the lineup. At this point in the proceedings lots of guys are playing hurt.

He looked like a bull last night, but is having trouble converting. I like his puck possession skills, but do not think they warrant an 8+ million a year contract.

He needs to find his groove and fast.

I like Jake a lot but I am willing to go out on a limb here:  he will never live up to that contract.  He is a really nice piece but not worth the contract given and has the potential to be an albatross in the coming years.  This contract and the Hartnell trade are the 2 black marks on Hextall's record IMO.

I am glad to be wrong here but don't think I am...

Apparently the injury was actually to his hands.  On good authority I heard he got his hands caught in a cement mixer.  It is especially painful when he is trying to take a pass on the backhand in the corner on the power play.
