hf101
I thought this was quite interesting as it seems quite an improvement to current methods. Researchers in London Ontario have discovered that a form of blood profiling known as 'metabolomics' can provide concussion assessments with up to 95 percent accuracy with a simple blood test given within 72 hours of a brain trauma. Metabolites in the blood - in particular lipids - show a consistent pattern when the brain has been concussed and this pattern can be analyzed over time to determine when a full recovery has been made. The test could be done outside the laboratory with a machine that would be small and light enough to take anywhere at a cost of $100 per test. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/concussion-blood-test-london-lawson-research-1.3841534
