Vegas Cacti. Tumbleweeds. Bright Lights. Casino. Mob. Money.

Glad it's not my job......

Vegas Cacti-- Well, unlike @WordsOfWisdom , you at least just said Cacti as opposed to POINTY Cacti.... .

Also, you realize every time a defenseman on Vegas gets beat on a play, they will sub in "like a cactus" instead of "pylon", right?

Tumbleweeds---  Frankly, I think POINTY Cacti is better........  **puff, puff....pass the tumbleweed, Brah...puff, puff**

Bright Lights---

Mmmmm...kay...

Las Vegas Money....

THIS is actually awesome.

Wholly unique, weirdly abstract, and seriously....money is all over Las Vegas (good or bad), and it just stays away from any possible political / rights groups / copyright BS you can think of!

Brilliant, @BluPuk !!!

Errrr, cept the NHL said they didn't want anything with gambling in it....and "Money" might be too close to that for their liking.

Ahh well, ANOTHER fantastic idea that the NHL won't use......par for the course with those guys.... Facepalm1.gif

Should the Knights open up on the road or at home?

I think Vegas just found their coach today with him getting fired.

No doubt he will be coaching next season, but I wouldn't bet on it being in Vegas. My picks -

  1. New York Rangers
  2. Detroit
  3. Montreal ....

I would tend to agree. Don't know if I would rank them in that particular order, but it's not often that a Stanley Cup winning coach hits the market. I would have to say, Montreal first. If the Habs don't at least make the ECF, I can see them trying a coaching change. The Habs window stays open as long as Carey Price is in his prime, so they won't mess around if they dissapoint in the playoffs.

If the St.Louis Blues don't respond to Yeo, I could see him going there.

Put the Black Hawks at the front of the line should they stink out the joint in the playoffs and management decides it's finally time for a change.

I don't see the NYR changing coaches and Detroit is a hot mess.  the Capitals, they HAVE to win at least 2 series, anything less than the ECF and Claude may be coaching AO.

I was just in Vegas for work.

the Avis lady had a VGK sweat shirt. It was butt ugly.

prior to that, I was thinking" hey i'm in Vegas I'll check out what the local team gear looks like". ..

The logo and uniform police (moi) hate nearly every single element of it, which is surprising because there is a lot of cool logo art in that city to "borrow" from.

smh

They totally ripped off UCF's name even though in recent years it has gone down from golden knights to just knights... but still, even though 2 diff sports. 1 is hockey the other a college/university.

i could think of better names than this for them, honestly...

I don't have an issue at all with the use of the team name that is also a Collegiate team name.  The Panthers and Jets are also a NFL team names. ( the Oilers used to be one).   The Rangers are also in the MLB, and the Kings are used by the NBA.

True but, vegas can have and should have a better name still that actually has to do with the area, just sayin.

You come up with $500M you can name a team (almost) whatever you want.

Knights is a tribute to the owner's past at West Point (black knights) and a reference to "nights" in Vegas.

That's interesting I guess but, still could've been better and more known in the Vegas area than just cause of the ownership, imo. Just sayin...

Pretty sure the league was looking to avoid "gamblers" or the like...

Could have been different, yes

Yeah, that was always the reasoning.  Although I always thought that was the goofiest thing I've heard since hockey in south Florida.

If you don't want the team associated with gambling, don't put it in Las Vegas.

Vegas has their first payer: Reid Duke of the Brandon Wheat Kings signs a three year ELC after Minnesota failed to sign him to a contract and lost his rights: https://www.nhl.com/goldenknights/news/reid-duke-7-fun-facts/c-287436740

Dammit!

The Wild will rue the day they let Reid Duke get away.................;)
