Brad Hunt who is an offensive force on the back end is now with his third organization in the past six months, the Predators may be the perfect fit.

Hunt was an undrafted free agent who signed as a filler with the Canucks in 2012, proved to be a capable puck mover but the Canucks right now would not recognize talent if it bit them on the rear and they let him go. another bad organization, the th?&id=OIP.M8db2faa68989ae3245f965211463Oilers signed him where he suddenly found his groove, 50 points in 66 games followed by 51 in 62 and 41 points in 61 games. He is a little guy, only five foot nine but he knows how to move the puck like few can at any level.

The Oilers let him leave and he signed with the Blues where he earned a callup with an insane 29 points in 23 games from the back end at the AHL level and in barely 13 minutes a night with the Blues, in 9 games he has 5 points but got caught up in the numbers games with a team that is deep on the back end and in spite of praise from Hitch was placed on waivers and the Preds just claimed him.“[Hunt] just moves the puck,” Blues coachth?&id=OIF.X5VbjAZobmRo2Gv4vE4SuQ&w=300& Ken Hitchcok said earlier this year, per the Post-Dispatch. “He gets himself out of trouble, he gets the team out of trouble. He’s a smart player.”

The Predators have lost Subban and Josi to injury and are in need of a puck mover and he fits the bill perfectly. The four time AHL All Star is going to get a chance to see if he can play at this level.

My feeling has always been that numbers mean things. If you can score at 1.3 points per game at the AHL level there is absolutely no way that you cannot score at the NHL level as well. His 5 points in 9 games with the Blues sums up what he can do on offense at the NHL level.

But another number, namely five foot nine matters too and his size will be a detriment in coverage on the back end and limit him.

He is the kind of guy who I always root for and hope he catches a break, that is all.
