Yzerman, the Bolts and the expansion draft

Nice article I found on hockeywriters.com. It goes into detail on the tough decisions facing GM Yzerman in regards to the upcoming expansion draft. One thing for sure, because of the no trade clause of 31 year old Callahan and Fippula, plus pending RFA status of Palat and 2 other prominent players, the Bolts may be in the toughest spot of all the NHL teams. Another thing for sure, Bishop WILL be traded before the deadline, the Blues or Winnipeg MAY be landing spots, both in need of a clear #1 goalie. Maybe Shattenkirk comes back from the Blues or Trouba from the Jets, but with all the RFA's, signing these guys to long term deals, very iffy cap wise. Should be interesting. Looks like Killorn or Johnson may be the odd forwards out, depending on how things shake out.....but a BIG deal will happen in TB.

I was already considering last year that the bolts were in the WORST spot for this Exp Draft.

The goalie situation has truly made it a nightmare tho. They were hoping Vasi would be able to take the job and run in 2 years and so far he has been downright ugh, while Bishop has fallen from form as well.

Now they need to decide "Will Vasi EVER grow into a #1? Will Bishop return to form next year?"

There can't be many teams in danger of losing a top 6 forward or a potential starting goalie. It would have been a LOT easier on Stevie Y if one of these goalies had taken the ball and run with it, but they are both being inconsistent, which makes things tough.
