So the Oilers have announced they will be wearing their alternate orange jumper in all their home games during the playoffs, and they have encouraged fans to wear as much orange as possible to games. It's a great tactic- if a critical mass of people wear orange it would look fantastic on TV as orange is a pretty bright colour, it will create a feeling of solidarity among the fans, it'll contribute towards an atmosphere of reinforcing that "this is our home" at games, and I'm sure it'll help boost merch sales. Honestly I am quite fond of their alternate jersey, as unimaginative as a basic palette swap is. Though... I first heard about it via a Flyers group where people were complaining that the Oilers are using the phrase "Orange Crush", which has been used by the Flyers in the past. A small contingent of Flyers fans have taken to Twitter to complain, which is of course what people do on Twitter.

JR Ewing Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 This probably dovetail with the Oilers plans for their uniforms next year, as the orange jersey will be their permanent home uniform. Will all team ditching the 3rd jersey for at least next season, they've opted to retire the old one.

Well, THAT can't be possible....I mean, if EVERYONE traded away up n coming players only to see them succeed somewhere else, well....someone's gotta be on the short end of that stick, right? Plus, will the entire league ever really all hire GM's who hand out ridiculous contracts to marginal players because they will be enrolling in the Church of Homer? Sheesh...I certainly hope not...

I am sure that not all the teams will do it and I don't want the Oilers or the Leafs to do it. They have a great system that is giving them a lot of success and they should keep it. I think that they Flyers have a bad system and the management doesn't conduct well with signing players. I think that if teams should copy a team it should be the Leafs or the Oilers. I looking forward to seeing the games with the new uniforms and to see if it will be like they said. if it will form a solidarity and will help the Oiler so I am for it although it sounds weird.
