yave1964 Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Gerard Gallant who was inexplicably let go by the Florida Panthers midway through this season has been signed by the Vegan Golden Knights to be their first head coach. I am a big fan of Gallant, his big round goofy face since his days of playing with the Wings in the eighties always seems to have a snarl or a smile or a smirk, as a player he could beat you in the corners and score as well. As a coach he has a well deserved reputation for developing young players and French Canadian players in particular fawn over him. I think it is a tremendous signing for the Knights and I am glad he landed on his feet. He was a finalist for the Adams award in 2015-16 with the Cats winning only their second ever Division crown in a quarter century of mostly bad Hockey, he was let go with an 11-10-1 record and the forward lines decimated by injuries and the Panthers were 24-26-10 after he was relieved.
TropicalFruitGirl26 Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Well, good thing about this hire is, if the Vegas front office ever decides to fire Gallant and leave him by the roadside, there are plenty of bars, casinos and "other" entertainment Mr. Gallant can indulge in while he figures out his next career move...
ezlot76 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 there goes my hope the Panthers rehire him! (Hey, I can dream right) Great choice.
