I have the Pens in 6. Just the better overall team i think.

I wish both could lose but i can't so i think it goes to the Pens.

Yuck i fell so nasty after typing that....off to take a bath....

All...emphasize all....of the pressure is on the Capitals. Presidents' Trophy. Shattenkirk trade. Year after year of playoff failures. OV's legacy. Now they get the defending SC champs with home ice.

I have the Caps going to the SCF.  However, the Leafs scared the bejeezus out of them in the 1st Round.  That was a wake-up call for them, IMO.  The Pens literally destroyed a Blue Jackets team that acted like an AHL team.  I think the Caps play better and I think the Pens get stiffer competition.  I do like the Caps but it will be a war with the Caps winning in 7 simply because of home ice.

I am not discounting the Pens at all.  That 1st Line is dangerous and Malkin has been an assist machine/monster.  I will not be shocked at all if Pens win.

We will now see of the Caps can get the monkey(pens) of their back.

Once again Flyer fan and Pens fan agree......the end of times are among us...

Meh...

Pens vs Caps.

Who dug up THIS old rerun again!?

Pens in 5.

Just because the 2nd round has proven to be Washington's limit the last few seasons.

And if the Caps play the Pens like they did against the Leafs (i.e. not properly containing the potent offense), then Pittsburgh will certainly make short work of them.

Caps in 7 - in triple OT. Just because we as NHL hockey fans DESERVE it. No particular reason for that prediction, other than Holtby being better than the Pens goalies at this point, and the revenge factor.

That's all I have to say about that.

LOL  I was thinking along the same lines.   But for at least the next 10 days to 2 weeks, I'm gonna be a Pens' fan.  (They're doomed, although it worked last year despite my cheering for them).

With the kid wingers they're actually a fun team to watch.  They'd be more fun for me with Murray in net, but it is what it is.

Plus, and I can't repeat this often enough:  I really hate the Capitals and their fans.

I would root for the old Soviet Red Army team to beat Pittsburgh. I'm probably not alone. IMO, you can't be a Flyers fan and root for the Penguins, not now and not as long as Crosby plays for them. No way. Go Caps!

Can't imagine the internal struggle Pierre McGuire is going to have in this series. He loves to slobber over both Ovie and Crosby.

Would be amusing to see Williams win another cup.

Williams is the new Recchi.

If Fleury starts in goal the Capitals have a HUGE  advantage! Caps on a sweep if he starts! It took Fleury 9 years to win a PLAYOFF SERIES!

I hoping my prediction is wrong!

The Pens down should be practicing their goalie skills because Washington will be coming fast and furious!

Hopefully the Pens could put their forechecking in place! Again this might slow them down

There's no question Regis will still lean toward pro-Penguin and his boyfriend. Fortunately, we won't have to have to hear him dwell on Kristofer Letang all series.

Completely understand.  But I actually like him better than Ovechkin, which says more about Ovechkin than Crosby.

We can always hope for that meteor.

Honestly, once the Flyers were eliminated last year I cheered for the Pens against the Caps.  I hate the Caps.  But here's the really weird, shameful part:   I went into each of the next two rounds expecting to cheer for the Pens' opponents, but as the games progressed realized I was actually cheering for the Pens.   I was actually cheering for them against Columbus, too.

I'm so ashamed...

I find myself hating the Sabres more than anyone these days. No idea why.

Hmm...maybe it's because Evander Kane plays for them....or maybe, because they are a pseudo-Canadian based team.

No, no, that's not right either...

Maybe it's the slug logo they tortured us with some years back. Or the fact that they employed Matthew Barnaby at one point.

Nah...none of those seem to be it...

Don't worry, @B21 , EVENTUALLY, we will get to the bottom of your hatred of the Sabres.

I'm SURE there is a person around here who might be able to shed light on this.... :NinjaLookLeftRight1:

In all seriousness, I don't really hate the Caps (yet). To Pittsburghers, the Caps are like the Bengals without that putz Vontaze Burfict.  You might get us in the regular season but come playoff time, we own you.  I'm sure that lack of hate could change once the series starts. But...OV has never bothered me nearly as much as others. They have Orpik - one of my all-time favorite Pens. Always liked Trotz.  They're just missing that "Tortorella-Dubinsky" thing. Or I'm just getting old.
