Playoffs top viewing markets thusfar.

It's because the only way for someone from Buffalo to see playoffs of any type (hockey or football) is to watch them on TV since the Sabres and Bills opt not to participate each year. Also there's nothing else to do there. :NinjaLookLeftRight1:

Also probably quite a lot of Toronto fans in the Buffalo viewing area.

Right but the ratings (as I understand it) don't indicate a consistent "number of people per point" in each area. It is a percentage of all homes with television sets.

 

There are likely more people in New York City Metro watching, but they would get a lower rating because there are more televisions in that Metro and more people watching other things.

 

So a 2 rating in Buffalo may not be as many actual people watching as, say, a 1.04 in Philadelphia or a .98 in Chicago and almost certainly West Palm's .96 doesn't represent anything like the total number of people that the .98 in Chicago does.
