Traded to Hartford Whalers as part of the Paul Coffey trade.

which by that time he was on the downhill side of his career.

1996–97 Philadelphia Flyers NHL 37 6 20 26 +11 20 17 1 8 9 -3 6
1997–98 Philadelphia Flyers NHL 57 2 27 29 +3 30

which by that time as you can see...... it falls into the motto of the Flyers to try to get players WAY past their prime and hope for a miracle .....  After the Flyers he would play only 4 more seasons between the Hawks / Canes / Bruins ...

What a waste of a draft pick ......

If you check the drafts of the mid 90's on there were a bunch of wasted picks.

Which now i see why Clarke traded them away.

They could scout it seems so he knew he could hit on them might as well trade them and overpay for a proven guy. Sad.

You can say that about every team back in the 90s. It was a different league back then. Drafting was nothing like it is now. Teams spend a lot more money on scouting resources now than they did back in the 90s/pre-cap era

What a waste of a draft pick ......

Paul Coffey and Dale Hawerchuk pretty much exemplify the Clarke-era Flyers Phillyosophy for me.

The Good Thing is that they only gave up MacTavish to get Hawerchuk.

The Bad Thing is that they had signed MacTavish in the first place.

Oh, and then there's the masterful series of trades that turned Vaclav Prospal and the pick that became Danny Briere into Adam Burt.

Good times?

Very cool. I like seeing Frost on there. I really don't know anything about him. I like putting a face to a name at the very least. I also always enjoy seeing Hex and even Pryor going through the motions. Sweet find.

I hope they keep doing videos like this throughout the season. I remember they tried doing it a few years ago, but it just turned into a waste.

Another funny Snapchat one...

I can't say i have read every post on this thread but i want to mention what i don't recall anyone saying is this lingering second hernia might be a blessing to the Flyers.

Why?? Because with it's existence it caused him to have a less than stellar performance this past season due to the undetected hernia helping scare the Devils and possibly other teams who may have traded up to steal him.

Causing him to fall into the Flyer's lap so to speak.

Because i'm saying after watching the video of his complete year (his 16/17 year old season) it has got me excited they might have pulled off a heist....

...guess we'll see in the future.
