jammer2
Simply amazing, this year's crop of RFA players. There is LITERALLY 25 young stars with RFA status. If nobody tries to steal a player with this crop, it's flat out collusion. I realize it's 3 first rounders to sign somebody to a RFA deal, but take the Habs for example. They have been looking for a #1 center forever and ever (Gally plays a lot of wing). The thing is, each year that passes is one less year of Price in his prime. They have to explore all avenues to get better quickly. Just an example, sure there are other teams that are respectable that may feel they are just a few stars away. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/rfa-2017-restricted-free-agents-negotiations-johansen-horvat-draisaitl-pastrnak-kuznetsov-galchenyuk-sheary/
radoran
It doesn't have to be collusion. All of the GMs understand the consequences of offer sheets - and the Holmgren Experience after Weber is a prime example. There can easily be "unwritten rules" with obvious consequences - the ice is full of them. It would be great if something upended the apple cart - but it will take far more than one person making an offer to an RFA. It would take a culture change of monumental proportions.
