Early in the season he was seen as a bit of a liability, but as the year went on he began to focus more on his own end of the ice and became a very reliable defenseman, even showing a bit of grit here and there. His pairing (with Matt Irwin) was exposed a bit in the playoffs, particularly against Pittsburgh, but the Predators could do a lot worse for a guy who won't be asked to skate more than 10-12 minutes a night. He is also a good friend of teammate Roman Josi. Preds mist improve their center play greatly i think they just aren't getting enough production from the group. More skill is needed.
