Kings Redeem LA
This contending team can't get a break lately! Too banged up to contend properly for the Cup. Lose a primary scorer in the expansion draft. And now this!
hf101
It seems the Poile prepared for Ellis's long term recovery by adding Emelin this summer. They will also have to see where Jack Dougherty fits if he maybe starts with the Predators this season. As long as the Predators can keep pace with the Blackhawks, Wild, Blues and Stars then it is probably best to take the full amount of time with Ellis's injury and not push the time table forward. OccamsRazor
What kind of surgery was it? I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere. Just that it was knee surgery is all.

Just that it was knee surgery is all. I'm not sure if it's been stated exactly. It's a ligament, but the actual procedure (repair vs replace) has not been made public. He was able to participate without a brace or anything when the Predators were the "12th man" prior to the Titans home opener, but reportedly walked very slowly out onto the field, obviously not being able to move quickly or run, so certainly skating and going at hockey speed are out of the question. Originally he was expected to be ready at least sometime close to the opener, so there must have been a setback during rehab. Hopefully holding him out until January is a precaution to ensure he's 100% rather than risking further damage/setback.
