Status of Ivan Kosorenkov

Read that he was sent back to juniors without a contract.  Think that means he goes back into the draft.  Odd given the hoopla around the kid, but maybe that was more media driven than anything by the team.  Makes you wonder.

Is Koserenkov committed to playing in North America ?

I don't know anything other than he showed well at rookie camp and training camp.

This is complete speculation on my part, perhaps he has misses playing where he speaks the language.

I have to think there must be a red flag with him somewhere.

Sad that the Flyers didn't sign him to an ELC.

Now he will go back into the draft and then who knows where.

However i think right now he will have a bigger, longer career than his current team mate and Flyer prospect Pascal Laberge...

...who after all the concussion issue is a shell of his former self and i think it will only be a matter of time before he hangs it up.

IK i think will get draft this upcoming year however due to his age it will be a late round pick.

I have never seen him play. Only know what I have read, which seemed promising. More than a few Flyer beat writers seemed convinced he would be sent back to the Q with a contract in hand. Like you said, must be some kinda red flag somewhere. When it comes to a kid who has been passed over in a draft, something like not fitting in with your teammates might be the straw that breaks the camels back. Just total speculation on my part. It is odd that so many writers liked what they saw. I don't think the Flyers are in trouble with the 50 contracts, so it's not that....I wonder why not roll the dice with the kid, see if he really breaks out in the Q this year, not a lot of risk here.

Well from the video i seen of the rookie game and some practice clip he had some more apparent skill than some Flyers prospect who will be left unnamed....so to me it would have been worth a risk of an entry level deal...however that didn't happen.

So now he will end up a Ranger or Devil i bet and come back to haunt them.

Kid has some impressive skill....sure and like many his age still need to learn how to play away from the puck.

Could have been a free signing....

I feel the same way, seems odd to not sign the kid. I guess the door is never closed though, pretty sure they can sign him through the year, no?

No the window is closed for undrafted guys to be signed to ELCs...

...however it is intriguing the Flyer's did release him after the window was closed....a game plan by Ron it maybe...

...so he can sneak him some how next year....

The window being closed makes the whole thing even stranger. Flyers will look really dumb if he goes back to the Q and puts up 50 goals.

HA...not even Hyka only weighs 170 to this day...no comparison there....not even close...

Huge comparison. Both undrafted and Flyers fans went nuts when we didn't sign him after he scored a nice goal in pre-season. (I know we couldn't)

My point is he probably doesnt even turn into an NHL regular or be anything more than a dime-a-dozen regular
