Just read  Elliott had core muscle surgery  and will be out 5 to 6 weeks. I have not seen that anywhere else other than the wealth of the NHL hockey knowledge, ESPN.

 Any truth to this?

Yes.

And Hextall states we don't need another goalie.  :bonkingheadonwall:

I hope that is just Hextall working some negotiations.

Well he keeps his moes close to the vest....so we won't know till he wants us too.

I to don't want to give up much to get a goalie for this bipolar bunch (with respect to folks who are bipolar) because if this group ain't i don't know who is.

So regardless of the goalie they ain't going deep if they get in....so don't give up much if anything.

Honestly, since the losing streak ended, I don't see their play as particularly bipolar, at least not more than any other NHL team, good bad or mediocre.

Every team has bad stretches in games, but for the most part I see the skaters on this team almost consistently to a man playing on an upward trajectory.

This team is 5 points out of first place and if Brian Elliott hadn't gotten hurt at the same time Neuvy got the flu (and no, I'm not just blowing smoke)   They could very likely be in first place right now.  That's no joke.

They have goalie problems and some would say Hakstol created them for himself by having utterly no idea how to manage his keepers (especially when one is so damn injury prone and one is 32 and never played this many games before) and frankly, I'm not sure I could disagree.

Regardless of What hextall does about this situation now, if Hak is here for the long haul, they have simply GOT TO GET HIM UNDER CONTROL WITH THESE GOALIES.

Whether it's practicing them less or getting him a viable backup so he doesn't streak start them the way he has been... ANYTHING.  Something has to change.
