yave1964 Posted February 25, 2018 Share Posted February 25, 2018 Thomas Plekanec was dealt from Montreal a bit ago with assorted non prospects going both ways, essentially Toronto traded their second rounder for Plekanec. Kind of a curious move, the Leafs are blessed with depth down the middle with Matthews, Kadri and Bozak, I know they have been searching for a 4th liner but I view Plekanec as a bit more than that. This move may also be a bit of Matthews insurance, if he is out longer than anticipated unlike some others who Toronto was looking at such as Glendening, Plekanec can move up to a third line role.
