hobie
I was surprised to see that TO's PP is now the 18th best in the NHL?I can't understand how a team with Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Kadri and Gardiner could end up with the 18th best PP? Actually that's not true, I think any team that has those excellent 5 players for the PP but doesn't play them together may very well be authoring their own results.I would think that if a team can and does use a single player to kill all 2 minutes of a penalty, then that same team could play those 5 as a single PP unit for all 2 minutes, isn't PKing more taxing? I'm not sure why Matthews and company isn't the top power play unit. Maybe the coach wants them to learn 5-on-5 hockey first before letting them cherry pick goals with the man-advantage?
