But make no mistake, justice will be served for his completely unnecessary hit on Nielsen. I’m not sure if Luke Witkowski is going to be on the Red Wings’ roster next season or not, but if he is available the next time we play against Backes, I have a feeling he will be “assigned” to Backes. I know Backes is not known as being a dirty player, but we need to stand up for our teammates. And the Wings front office may need to consider having a guy like Witter around to help protect our young talent that will be getting their feet wet next season not allow others to take advantage.
