Greetings:

Vegas is the favorite, but not by a big margin:

Both teams have some injury issues--it looks like James Neal and Reilly Smith will be out for Vegas.  We have done well against the West this year and handed VGK one of its few home losses.

Fleury's next win is 400.  That is quite an achievement.  But let him get it on somebody's else's ice.

Dammit.   We're going to lose this game.   Have you ever noticed that it's nearly always the Flyers in someone else's milestone videos?

So you saying Bellemare with the game winner?

I hope not.

I expect the same lineup from the Jets game.

I expect (pray) when Hagg is healthy Manning will dust off his popcorn skills.

Sanheim adds a more skilled backend than Manning and he has upside and growth potential.

None more embarrassing than Wayne Gretzky getting 5 goals against us to give him 50 in 39 games.

Flyers looked like this...

Tonight, Flyers 5-3.

Patrick with 2 goals and a helper. Lindblom with his 1st, Couturier with his 30th, and Read with an empty netter.

Patrick has 10 points (5g, 5a) in his last 12, and 14 points (7g,7a) in his last 20.

Sanheim should be in the line up for the rest of the season. You need his puck moving abilities because aside from the top pair, we have no one else that can do it effectively on a consistent basis. He'll make mistakes, but who cares? Manning and MacDonald make those mistakes on a nightly basis, but at least Sanheim will get better.

It's too bad he was recovering the entire first half of the season. He would probably have 40 points if he was healthy all season

Here is David Hess' take on tonight's game:

Note that Fleury is 27-20 (2.89 GAA) lifetime against the O and B.  We are 2-8 in last 10 Monday games (are we hungover)? More importantly, we have scored 2 or fewer goals in six of the last seven.

My take: It is a repeat of Winnipeg.  Do we get a superior/outstanding performance out of Mrazek?  And can we get somebody from outside our top line to score (hey...AMac had the gamewinner)?  That seems to be where we are in this part of the season.  Simmonds is off kilter, and I have little faith in our bottom six.

All the more reason to keep Sanheim in the lineup. The need offense/puck movers. Travis is that guy.

Also not to rip on him but i would put Sanheim on the 2nd PP in Ivan's spot to give him so rest he has logged some heavy minutes this year.

They are going to need him rested for the playoffs.

Just a thought and it could jump start the 2nd unit.

Wow 3 of the next 4 games are pretty much 4 point games with how tight the standings are.

Vegas they need to win to maintain the gap between the Devils which is only 3.

Then the Caps who are ahead of the Flyers so BIG game!

Then the Jackets which are only 4 points back.

Then the Canes which are clawing and scratching behind the Panthers who as well as the Canes fighting for a playoff spot.

Yet Panthers have 3 games in hand on the Jackets and Devils.

But the Panthers have yet to play any of their divional games with the Bruins so that can change quickly depending on the results.

Hard as hell to move in the standings.

It's why Flyers need to keep winning!!

I guess this is the parity most owners and the NHLPA wanted after '04-'05.  Over the long-haul, it means every game and point count.

Pass Pass Pass..... no shot on goal....    sound familiar?

Missed the first period, thanks for the recap. Sounds like the Philadelphia Passers are playing true to form...

Yes,  G decides to SHOOT... (for a change)

He shot and scored last game. He shot and scored tonight.

While it's true that "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take," and "it's never wrong to shoot" it's also true that 16.66% of shots you attempt to take from the top of the circle don't get thorough (because one or more of five guys are trying to block or otherwise get in the fukkin' way). Of these, 66% result in an odd-man rush (half of which are 2-on-1s). Of these, some end up in the net.

So, while 100% of shots that you do take do not get blocked 100% of the time, they still end up in your net too bloody much!

Yelling "SHOOT" is not enough of a perspective. There's lots of reasons to not shoot. All the time.

And I agree with you! Get pucks to the net. Always.

Except when you shouldn't.

EDIT: SHOOT THE ****** PUCK!!!!
