hobie
TO has 3 tough games left TB, Nash. and Winterpeg. Andersen is scheduled to be back but none of the other wounded are. Matthews and Zaitsev are saying they're ready bu the Leafs are holding them out against TB. Leafs are 5-2-2 while Matthews is recovering and 3-0-0 without Andersen. That's depth!! hobie
We had the tale of 2 games within a single game, TO dominated for 2 periods and while TB had 2 actual scoring chances in those periods 1 went in. Everything went wrong in the 3rd, the forwards disappeared, instead of supporting the d they became spectators. It was a disappointing game. Hymen scored a pretty impressive goal tonite, his 14th which warms my heart. He was going full throttle all night as he normally does. Twice, late in the 3rd he expends huge amounts of energy to win board battles and wins them both, then he blindly passes to the opposition, that too is Hymen. BluPuk
Yep. Another signature finish by the Leafs. Starts with a goal very late in the period and goes downhill from there........ No character. Playing for money. Sad.
hobie
TO paid a 2nd for Plekanec mostly for his experience, he's been a really great unsung hero with Montreal for years, but I have been very dissatisfied with this transaction since he's been with TO. I also understand that there was a universal sigh of relief in Montreal by the fans when he was traded because his skills have eroded considerably and they saw him as someone Montreal needs to move on from. I didn't think Plekanec had much left in the tank offensively which is fine because he'd be filling a 4th line role but I did expect a sterling defensive player and I don't think we've seen that. Last night Plekanec was puck watching leaving a player who was 3 feet from him free to score. TO has enough puck watchers and we really don't need more. BluPuk
I agree with you hobie. Maybe he'll pick it up as time goes by, but right now we got hosed ....
