Honestly, McDavid has no business winning it.
I get he’s definitely valuable to his team, but if a league MVP means keeping your team about a half dozen points out of the complete basement, it’s not much of an accomplishment. He’s no leader and has not earned it at this point in his career.
Put another way, G is willing his team to the playoffs which they 100% would miss without him.
McDavid is probably keeping his teammates off suicide watch. Is there a huma
I think if he’s healthy, he will keep playing at a high level. There’s more and more talent developing on this team and there’s more on the way. There are lots of options for him.

@elmatus That was pretty much my stance on it as well. I think there's a great argument for Giroux winning the Hart this year. His problem is that Taylor Hall can make a lot of the same claims, but with the added bonus of playing with inferior players, and Nathan McKinnon kicks in with a similar claim as well.
If any one of those three go on to win, I don't think the others have been robbed.
