BluPuk
I'm afraid I know very little about this kid other than he is a stats guy, not a hockey guy. I am concerned.....
TropicalFruitGirl26
Good gawwwd…. Leafs fans better hope he knows what he is doing with his abacus, protractor, compass, and graphing calculator.... Otherwise, "Dubas" won't be too far from you-know-what.....

He does lean towards analytics....but he has a SOLID hockey background. At 32 he's the youngest NHL GM, and that is not by accident. The guy was professional scout at 17 years old!! That is CRAZY!! He was GM of the OHL's Sault Ste.Marie Greyhounds at 28...so his rise has been steady and startling.
BluPuk
I believe John Chayka of the Arizona Coyotes is even younger.
J0e Th0rnton
If I do well enough in Fantasy hockey, Maybe I can get on this analytics train and land myself a GM job! I have a lot of experience trading with Rux, Yave and dealing with hard bargains!

WordsOfWisdom
Worse kept secret in hockey. Everyone knew this was coming years ago.
BluPuk
I never believed it, WOW. I think they should have adopted the orphan in stead of hiring him. It would have been cheaper.

It would have been cheaper. Look at it this way: he can't do any worse than the GMs that came before him. The only good GMs I can think of with the Leafs are Pat Quinn and Lou Lam(ah hell I'm not spelling that). During Quinn's tenure, the Leafs spent money and had some of the biggest names in hockey. They didn't win the big prize, but at least they were in the game. Under Lou/Shanahan, the team has seen a resurgence.
