Islanders rumored to Hire Lou Lamoriello

I saw this several days ago and thought it was just another one of Ek's far-fetched rumors.   According to Arthur Staple of the Athletic,   it seems that Lou will be hired as a front office executive to run hockey operations and / or GM in the near future.   Apparently, Lou has met with Tavares also in plans to retain the most sought-after free agent of this off-season.

 

Garth Snow's contract has 4 more years on it    with a fairly steep buyout too.  So this could all get interesting.   Although Lou is 75 the Islanders are in  nee of a shake-up in the front office.

I actually saw this over the weekend.  I kind of chuckled knowing the state of the Islanders are in.  The Isles have been a hot mess for years.  Changing of the guard in the front office has been long over due. The Isles made the playoffs only 5 times since 2006.

Lou was instrumental all those years with the Devils.  If given a legitimate chance, he might be just the right person to right the Isles ship.  However, first thing is first ....he MUST address the Tavres situation ......
