You mean going forward? We had it this past season, but he had to thin out the herd, and get down to just those who actually played weekly- 14 or 16 I think we had.

Not sure about next year, but ill see him soon, and ask him abou tit.

It sucks to have the let it flow teams...but maybe he should recruit here?

This is also a great option for folks looking to join in the HF.net League for fantasy hockey.  We'd really like to expand this from 1 to  2 Bantam Leagues and the All Star League next season.

I dont think Hawg joined, or even would?

I guess he would "have to" to try to keep last years going, although he has email contact with the players, so a board isnt really needed.

**And its back to the point where most of the players are personal friends, whove been playing Fantasy hockey for a decade or more with a few board members mixed in.

Ill run it by him, see what he says.

I want to continue, A_E wanted to last year but got snuffed for lack of making lineups (even though she did better than me her last year, she got axed for not playing - Ironic huh)

PS- A_E has done better than me most every year - maybe thats why Hawg ousted her Haha~

I thought I was the ring leader...afterall anyone who agrees with me is my minion.   I'll mention something hockey related so it can stay here.  Anyone think Yeo is holding some kind of a grudge against Jason Zucker?  Why doesn't he get a free pass when Granlund does?

I don't think he holds a grudge against Zucker and I don't think MG gets a free pass. But then again I'm not a MG hater, just a realist that progress takes time in this sport.

I never once said Granlund has to be good now.  In fact that's precisely why I'd really let him season in the AHL first.  He had a half-season long NHL audition last year...for how bad he was, that was a free pass.  Fletcher guaranteed him a roster spot going into that season. Why?

Fletcher guaranteed him a roster spot so he would sign and come over here to play.  For some reason CF forgot MG played in Europe and played a different style of hockey.  And if you are referring to Zucker not playing very much in this game, sounds like he is hurt.

Whatever, Granlund has stated his goal has always been the NHL.  He's shown humility and honesty in assessing his game.  He was going to sign with the Wild regardless.  As Broten correctly stated, the Wild heavily promoted that propaganda.

What a wonderful trip down screename memory lane (cue the 1950's Leave it to Beaver type music).  MrAhole2u was someone else actually.  He was a guy who claimed to be close friends with Patrick O'Sullivan.  Turns out, as he told me, he painted on store windows for a living.  I asked how would he get to know Patrick O'Sullivan with a gig like that, but he never would share.  He got a bunch of women on another message board (who were all Patrick O'Sullivan obsessed puck bunnies) to believe him.  He really loved the attention he got from that; and followed Patrick O'Sullivan's underwhelming NHL career.  I sometimes wonder if those women still pine for the guy.  MrAhole2u claims to lurk around the boards, but I doubt it.  You know with that Window painting career and all.  Buy one get one's don't paint themselves gosh darn it!

Ignore doesn't work, PM's don't work... That's going to ruin our secret meeting.

And yeah, I knew a couple of those swanky usernames weren't of the same marvelous flake we all love and adore but plugging it in there adds special meaning.

Of all the hockey boards we have the special privilege of inheriting former Gong Show losers on steroids. Boy, if that doesn't cause the price of colon blow stock to increase I don't know what will.

Anyway, who's turn is it to bring the list of people to rip to shreds or are we sticking with our old one again?

Too bad Mort doesn't post here any more.  And I'd bet the farm it wasn't KC/LiG that chased him away.  My memory it was transitory trolls who thought it was witty to bring religion into insults.  So he walked away.  If he does wander by, I hope he finds decent hockey content, not more pizzing contests.

I'm in the process of moving in Oct and want to fish Rainey River right into deer season, that it'll be late Nov until I make a game at the Xcel.  When I do, I'll stop at Tom Reid's Bar the afternoon before a game and buy anyone with a Username, even an azzhat like Bart (who probably isn't such a dud in real life), a beer or a drink, whatever they prefer.

That's the current meeting plan for me.  Good luck to everyone else with heir own meeting plans...

Like I keep "laughing" at your POS avatar.

But since this thread is about POS Cooke, I have to say whoever is running his PR campaign belongs at the top echelon of campaigning.   They should be making huge money running guys like Al Franken's campaigns.   POS is being elevated to sainthood by the true lap dog media, not just the franchise PR people.

There were a couple "fun" Nuck trolls and a couple good posters, but for a couple years there we had way, way, WAY too many nuck trolls spamming the board with ignorance.  I think that peaked in the years POS was with Vancouver.  What a coincidence.

You got your farts in the elevator and your farts in the wind. Then you got your farts in a forest fire: they blow here and there, feel the heat, and go up in a ball of flame.

Then you got your beer farts. See you at Reid's.

CehNehDeh - that's the "good" nuck poster I was thinking about!  Too bad he moved on.  KC/LiG might have ragged on him, but I'd bet the farm he wasn't scared away by KC.  More evidence contrary to the "chased away by bullies" conspiracy theory.  There are a couple examples of sour grape people on HFB, but when you consider the myriad of people who come and go constantly, the thin skinned PC people are a very small % IMO.

CehNehDeh moved on because of personal choice issues. Great guy with a lot on his plate.

-

Farts in an elevator... Tolerable. If you're chewing gum or something and grit your teeth convincing yourself "you'll live" everything will be just fine.

In a car, when a woman cuts loose a silent one and doesn't say anything. My God, I just about gag. Opening the windows late just means it's going to get caught in my hair or pores for Christ sake and minutes will go by as I hope my damn eyes will stop watering.

Farts when meds or something is causing them. Get used to it, welcome to old age.

-

Drove by Reid's last Friday night 3-4 times. I'm hardly ever in St. Paul. Partly grew up around there though off Hodgson. Lived off East 7th for a bit in my 20's...

Anyway, the girl toy made a cake for a co-worker and while she ran it in to Patrick McGovern's Pub I kept going around a few blocks unable to find parking and not willing to look too hard. We weren't planning on lingering around.

Maybe one of you guys know of it. It was a two tier Groom's party cake... For a Wild fan. It was fancied up with the Wild trees, #8 and a pair of skates on top.

-

Confrontational... These guys are too rich for your blood. They have character, will, determination, pride and enjoy just about everything hockey brings them in whatever form. For them it's not just an interest level it's a pure enjoyment level.

Kind of like when you blow your nose instead of just eating the boogers and licking your fingers. Maybe you can relate to that.

Would I ever meet these guys? Sure. It's very hard though as I'm over an hour away from the Excel (to say the least) but I've made it there a couple times over the past couple years and so far dragging the girl toy along on journey's like that, well let's just say they've been her company’s corporate suites I've been a guest in... And if I didn't have to drag a woman along with me (wait, I guess that could be construed as the other way around)... If the girl toy didn't drag her boy toy to the games I'd have freedom to wander around more and act like a normal citizen as opposed to a stuffy goodie two shoes.

Hanging around with some chicks at sporting events is sometimes worse than being constipated... If you know what I mean.

It would be like hanging around confrontational for eight to ten minutes. Not very joyful, ya know?

Otherwise I'd be there a ton more. Especially if it wasn't a six hour journey (time slot) every time.

I stopped in for a few beers Saturday after I picked up my ducats for the Habs tilt.  Talked to Tom for just a while....I love it that he is there - even on non-game days and makes a point to come around and talk to us fans...He even remembered me and laughed when I walked in and said to me: "Montreal Tickets, right?"

I'm in for the meet-up - though I've met most of ya already

MNWildatHeart is on of the sweetest, nicest people you could ever meet. She had a slick 'Mean Girls' sticker on her car window. I so wanted to peel it off, but, that woulda been...mean.

Yea, its different when you actually have REAL friends than being someone like yourself with 15 screenames pretending to be 15 different people.  You can carry on with your facade though...its entertaining.

My little kindergarden teacher is far too funny...  Trust me when I tell you I have better things to do than create multiple AE's for this site - no offense - nothing on here is that crazy important...  But, I do find it interesting how you and "mr. crotch" seem to be very interested in each and every one of my posts - obsessed would probably be a better word...

You may think you're a badass - but a little birdy said that you get a little butthurt when anyone new comes to this forum...  Like your own little playground - constantly throwing stones - constantly trying not to be "that guy"...

You picking up what I'm laying down derek...?

I'd say thats probably because almost every one of your posts takes a dig at them lately (not saying they don't do it back it all goes both ways). Its your perogative to post what opinions you wanna post and I could care less as I skim over most of it but its kind of silly to assume that someone isn't going to respond when they're constantly being called out or slandered no matter who's the one slinging the mud in this circumstance between all of you. You obviously do have the time or you would have dropped it by now instead of egging it all on everyday for how long now?

As for the "whenever someone new comes to the forum" stuff we've heard it all time and time again... that "little birdy" is most likely someone who has had problems with one of them in the past trying to make a message board ally out of you in thier crusade against the "message board mafia". I'm not super old on this forum.. only probably 3-4 seasons now and although there was some ribbing when I first started posting I never caught the flack some of the people do lately and I wonder why that is? Either the "message board mafia" completely missed me as a new board member, I was given a Granlund/Shep style free pass or the whole ideal of the "MBM" existing is false. I don't buy the "everyone is out to get me" mentality some people come in here with .. because between all of these rants and e-fights over my time here there has been new people popping up and contributing with no problems from the older members at all.

I've disagreed with LiG and Rotten a number of times myself and its never got personal.. infact, I've come to enjoy thier posts and insight even if its something I don't personally agree with or hold the same opinion on.. maybe its time to ask yourself why are you getting all of this flack when alot of the other newbies aren't and and alot of us haven't in the past when we were new? or you can keep on assuming everyone here is one of thier "lap dogs" as you so kindly put it just for having an opinion that is similar to thiers or doesn't agree with yours.

Agree with Soulfly, kinda hard to feel for you Confrontational when you're digging at these guys with every post.  It's cowardly to put them on ignore and then continue to run your yap.  Either shut up about them or have the decency to drop the gloves and fight fair.  I get just as tired of the insults and jabs and bullying as anyone else but you're pretty much asking for it.

Well I'll be... Thanks guys.  (While I'm aware I don't need to add to the drama but I do try bringing some humor along with it.)

Soulfly brought up a very valid point where 'a person in question' constantly digs and basically eggs on the same guy for years.

I added the for years of course, but it really is true. Very true and for the most part that's why I jump all over the freak(s) when all they're here for is to relentlessly badger someone while contending they're the ones being bullied.

And uh, mplspug, I think you now I was just plunking you in there for the heck of it - about the skirt crud. lol

If not more often and it usually occurred in a way where the same sorry souls would return to the board for no other reason but to stir up trouble long past forgotten by throwing out endless insults in true bully fashion yet claim we were the bullies.

It was more lame when they'd gang up on someone, trash them however they tried (most the time it backfired) then rail on others to stick to hockey. Weak. lol

True.  I remember all of the 'you won't chase me away' bravado...when I knew it wouldn't matter.  They were hoping to lead a revolution...but no one revolted so they left on their own.  No need to chase anyone away when I know you'll get annoyed the audience doesn't care about the fact you feel offended.

The beer braised beef short ribs? That would have been me. Is this the one:

I miss Wukwinn's videos he used to post every so many months.  I think he did some of these as part of a class he had in HS at Bloomington Jefferson.  I used to watch them to get myself pumped up for the season.  Back when I still believed in this team...

A few other memories...how about the mega thread where myself, Fargo and many other fans called out the organization for being cheap?  That was at the end of the Naegele era, and we were tired of seeing a team sellout literally every single game but still field a roster that was bottom 4 or bottom 2 in payroll in the league.  I remember Souhan and Reusse even wrote about how the fan angst was reaching record levels as they were inundated with angry current and former season ticket holders.  So finally the team spent some $$$, but we pointed out how the Wild could've signed a lot of these players out of the lockout but instead had the infamous 'evaluation year' and we ended up trading picks / players for the same guys we could've simply added as free agents.

This was long before then.  This was with a different ownership group entirely.  Also, if you had been on the boards there were mixed feelings about the Parise / Suter deals from the start.  It was exciting at first to be the team that made the biggest offseason splash but that feeling wore off pretty quick.

Agreed when we first signed Suter and Parise I was just in shock and very excited. I mean it was like wow a team from Minnesota actually spent money and like a lot of money so yeah of course I was pumped. But like you said it quickly wore off or at least for me Suter wore off rather quickly and I grew tired of laziness rather quickly.

Right from the start with the big press conference I kind of got the vibe this was a big PR stunt, an attempt to say that this was an organization serious about winning.  Parise and Suter brought up the 'strong prospect pool' being a reason to sign and I almost barfed.  The funny thing is, as the team continued to stall out in the 1st round of the playoffs season after season suddenly someone tried to bring up that Suter and Parise signed on because of Mikko Koivu and I wanted to hurl again.  They have used this deal to try to justify just about anything this team has done or has not done.  Parise and Suter signed here because they got a market that won't put much pressure on them to deliver much of anything substantial, they get a hockey market for their kids / families to grow up with and they're set for the rest of their NHL career, results on the ice be damned.

What are your favorite memories of the old wild.com message boards?

Lots.  Way too many to list.   Predicting the Dan Frische trade and the Wild taking Brad Brown off waivers.    Being called a racist for criticizing Park's lack of production and that he would be gone.  Posting about the possibility of signing Daigle and whetehr it made sense or not.   Taking lots of hate for posting that big butt Bruno had turned into a PP specialist and he was gone, etc, etc, etc.   Mocking that one rent a cop troll.  I enjoy seeing nicknames I believe I coined is always fun.  Dumpster Doug, sufferin' Sekeras,  the Wrong Robitaille.  Of course going to the WCF.  But the joy of making it too the WCFs ruined by losing to POS dirty ducks, who were the ultimate clutch and grab interference plus veing dirty and big...   And their Michelin man goalie who was a huge reason people went after the size of goalie equipment.    The trade for Demitra.  Laughing at the clown drunk writer for Colorado, Adrian Dater.  Isn't he Russo's bud.

Now I'll go back and read this thread...

Fart in an elevator...    I just found this thread and have been laughing my azz off!    Thanks everyone for posting in it, some great memories for me.  Funny thing is - how similar 2013 actually was to 2018 in my life.   Just fished Lake of the Woods for a day on MN Deer Opener.   No really big fish, I had a couple 22", but lots of fish.

I was there, too.  Internet bullies.   The people who actually did kill the official msg brd did so about a decade after they accused us.

Once upon a time before all the frilly pansies left the forum and went to HF boards. I almost miss all the huge negative ratings.

I think the time KC and others were being accused of killing the Wild boards was about five years before you joined.  Could be wrong, of course.  But that's damn rare.  😘
