Your post got me curious about Zamula and whether he was AHL-bound next year.

He isn't. But, man, is he ever thriving.

18 years old, 6'3", 165# (gotta put on some meat!).

61 GP, 10g, 46a, 56 pts.

Leading scorer among defensemen by far (next closest D has 33 pts). Sixth overall on the team - would probably be 3rd if he played the same number of games as the top two forwards.

For some comparison, when Sanheim was his age, he put up 67 GP, 15g, 50a, 65 pts.

Very similar development curves.

Other than Ghost...the entire Flyers defence may well end up being Hextall draft picks/UFA juniors by the time it's all said and done.

Yup. I was all-in on Hextall. The kool-aid was fine.

I'm not at all sold on Fletcher because of the reasons it was done and - especially - the way in which the whole thing was handled.

But that ship has sailed, and we are but drunken passengers. Because we're all out of kool-aid.

And once you check it with Sanheim's draft +1 year wow...awesome find.

Sanheim 67 gp 15 gls 50 ast 65 pts +27

Zamula 61 gp 10 gls 46 ast 56 pts +6

Not a bad comparison...one of these guys was the 17th overall pick in the draft. One only cost an entry level contract.

And Zamula from the reports i have already seen is already the size Sanheim is right now.

I guess in time he may help replace someone going out.

Might want to hold him and Farabee out till the start of next year.

Looking forward to full seasons of Rubtsov, Farabee and Laberge. I'm really rooting for Laberge and hoping he can stay healthy and put together a very good season. The embarrassment of riches is really beginning to show. I'm almost thinking that Farabee - Rubtsov - Laberge could possibly be a line that starts together in Lehigh Valley. You could then put together another line of Ratcliffe - Frost - Allison. I'm so looking forward to next season.

I guess we could be hearing soon about Laczynski soon his Buckeye's just got eliminated 2-0.

I read somewhere Allison was seeing a knee specialist...not sure if there was an issue or was it a precautionary visit.

Have you hear anything on him?? It has been quiet everywhere i have seen on him....which is strange.

I read Adam Fox might not sign with the Canes....should be announce in the next 48 hours after Harvard was bounced today.

I was too.  It's a shame they couldn't have been patient.

Even one more year....I think next year they start to really click.

Then the following year is when this team will start to becoming a contender.

I hope Fletch just adds a piece or two without doing something dumb this summer.   (Panarin or Stone, sign Talbot and maybe a tweak or two).

Stone is definitely out. He signed an 8 year, $9.5M/year contract with the Knights.

This is the most pivotal off-season in quite some time.

Two #Flyers prospects have made it to the Frozen Four: Jay O'Brien (Providence) and Noah Cates (Minnesota Duluth). However, O'Brien is out with an injury and has missed the Friars' last five games. We'll see if he returns for their game against Cates and UMD on April 11th

I guess they are letting Farabee rest the remainder of the year haven't seen anything about him.

He did have a minor knee injury.

So it might be smart to err on the side of caution i would like he healthy for next year's camp/preseason.

He could have a legit shot at the Flyers next year they could sure use his sniping ability.

Zamula who picks up an assist in game 7 helps his Hitmen advance to the 2nd round.

Good job kid.

In 7 games he has added 5 assists +5.

What a waste of him staying one more year in the SHL on his entry level contract and only playing in a total 19 total games.

Terrible...i wonder if the Flyers would have known that would they just brought him over.

Strange.

I haven't followed this at all. Do you know why wasn't played in more games?

Phantoms loas again....very sad neither club with all these prospects won't make the playoffs. Very disappointing.

Blasted by Checkers 6-2.

Goals:

Bunny man's 17th of the year his first in the AHL.

David Kase's 6th of the year his first in the AHL. Had to deal with several injuries this though.

I look forward to a better year from both these guys next year with a better Phantom squad next year.

Just taking a look at the stats in Lehigh Valley and this is an awful club, defensively. It's player after player with negative plus/minus. I get that some will say that plus/minus isn't a real stat to measure, but when you see that your team is practically a minus, it's clear that defense certainly isn't paid attention to there.

I'm ready for Fletcher to clean house as it relates to the coaching staffs in Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley. I talk about it quite a bit, but there is ZERO reason why either club should be so bad on the defensive side of things. I get that there are holes, but there's enough talent that they shouldn't be so bad defensively. It's going to take time to unlearn everything Gord Murphy taught them about defense and learn what real defense is all about.

I'm hoping that if Quenneville comes on board, he brings Mike Kitchen with him to teach the young players about what real defense is. Of course, the challenge will be finding someone to teach the players in Lehigh Valley. Maybe the Flyers can convince Dennis Williams from Everett to come to Lehigh Valley.

Speaking of Everett they are going to sign Wyatte Wylie i sure hope this offseason they could use him as you were saying the defense is weak down there and needs some better prospects.

First you need to add some real D prospects back there to coach.

One because TJ Brennan, Schlemko, Samuelsson and De Haas are not prospect. Just AHLers at best.

I like Reece Willcox however he really isn't a prospect anymore and may never see the AHL just lack speed, he is smart but at the next level he will get exposed.

So they really don't have any. Hogberg and Bernhardt aren't coming over not sure why but it has been stated they are not coming over.

Friedman needs to be the 7th D man on the Flyers next year his entry level deal end this year so who is going to be down there to coach??

Wylie should be added when his playoffs are over but it's not enough.

They signed Rob Michel to an ATO so he might get signed but they some better prospects.

Maybe the Flyers can try and sign the Capitals defenseman who has said he wants to test the free agent market.

Chase Priskie would be a nice one to add. And right hand shot with some good offensive traits. 6-0 192 some solid size.

Adam Fox might be worth it to try and lure away from the Canes. Fletcher should go after his alumni prospect hard.

I would try and talk to him before the draft and give the Canes some decent compensation for his rights if you know he will sign.

Man if the Flyers could land one if not both that would be awesome.

Flyers have plenty of prospect it is time to move some of these icks for guys who are closer to helping.

I want Mike Kitchen as an assistant on the NHL club. I wouldn't have him as a coach in the AHL. The young defensemen in Philadelphia could really use his tutelage.

As for the AHL coach, he'll get some young defensemen to work with soon. Right now, it's about getting the forward prospects up to speed on playing two-way hockey, not just balls to the wall forechecking and zero backcheck.
