From Kris Baker of the Athletic
For the past two years, St. Ivany has been one of the most underrated defensive prospects in North America. Passed over in the 2017 draft before attending Anaheim’s development camp, the Los Angeles Junior Kings product made his presence felt as a poised, pace-controlling force en route to ringing up 36 points (6+30) in 54 games, which tied for fourth-most among league defenders.

St. Ivany checks all the boxes for what one would want in a defender in this stage of the draft. He commits to his assignments, has an ample physical game and has the agility to escape checkers and quickly get the puck to the forwards. Some players just look like a pro in how they execute. St. Ivany, who will enroll at Yale in the fall, certainly fits the mold.

Wonder if this choice was influenced with LA Kings selecting #113.    :poke:

I think it was more influenced by "shoots R"

Hextall gets his RHD.  Good size, though skating sounds average at best.  Will attend Yale.  Kid must be smart.

Hextall came away with two pretty sizable d-men.  Probably taking at least one more.

We are growing fond of collegians.  I wonder if "Big Data" is sending a signal about success prospects or "coachability?"

The third bad pick in a row. A re-entry none the less because he didn't get picked last year. What are they doing? My God, other than the Farabee pick, I'm devastated with what they've done so far. I'm heart broken. This has been a bad draft. I'm so disappointed.

Every post of you have made about the Flyers draft picks in this years draft have all been so overwhelmingly positive!

Can't wait until 5 years from now when this draft for the Flyers turns out to be a great one, I guarantee you will be typing things like " man I knew ever since they drafted so and so he was going to be a stud player" etc... lol.

Freaking relax dude, take a xanny or something.
