Current talk is that Karlsson's issue wasn't so much the value of the contract but rather the lack of signing bonuses and possibly the lack of lockout protection.

So.....does that mean that even KARLSSON knows there is gonna be a lock out...especially if he too insists on a ridiculously large extension?

Knowing Melnyk he probably not only didn't include lockout protection but insisted that if a lockout happened he'd have to pay to access club facilities to stay fit
