AJgoal
Good for him. Looked good despite a few mistakes. Flyers can afford to take a flyer on the kid as the young kids on D are about to all graduate.
brelic
Calgary Flames - Providing Great Prospects For The Flyers Since 2016. Nice to see the Flyers sign him. He looks like he could be a nice defenseman for us in 5ish years. Gotta keep restocking the players when we have some graduates.

And he really did look good, with some understandable mistakes as you say.

Because even if we're only talking 3 years (and especially if the 5 is closer to accurate--likely) he and our 2018 picks might be ready when our current graduates need to get paid. He just turned 18 in May so his entry level can slide for 2 year so yeah about 5ish he will be close to wanting a new contract and by then we'll know muc much more where he is at. A good deal for both sides.

A good deal for both sides. Right. Really no downside. Like you said, he'll need a new contract about the time he'll be ready, but it'll be manageable. Without looking at when other contracts expire, by that time it may be hard to afford all the people already appearing in the lineup (or on the cusp of it), so keeping stocked (people like him, Ginning, Hogberg, maybe Wylie) will be the way to go. I like it. I really think we should trade Wylie to Arizona. Not because I dislike him, but they could use some marketing like Wylie Coyote.
