It would be nice to get a win. Can Elliott rebound after being yanked??? Guess we'll see.

Go Flyers!!!!!!

Something they have been historically bad at that needs to change tonight!

Remember Bob gave up 8 goals his last game so they must get on the board first or Bob will be in their head...

...however that could be a bad sign for the Flyers...they could lose 5-0 tonight. SMH.

So done with trying to predict these games.  Hard enough trying to figure out how they will play period to period within a game.

I imagine Tortorella has put them through their paces the last few days given the time off since the whipping they took from Tampa.  Imagine they are geared up to play.  Flyers could find themselves in a hole early if they aren't ready.

Putting aside Bobo's mastery, note our record in Ohio.

I am not sure if this is an overlap with Bobo, or if this is tough venue?  Regardless, we will have our hands full.

“Completely different player, so I don’t know where that comparison would come from other than the fact that the two of them played for me. That’s where you should probably end it,” Hakstol said from Nationwide Arena Thursday. “Naturally, Knight is a right-handed centerman. He’s a good two-way player. He’s versatile enough to play the right wing, and he’s a very good PKer.”

Since "Captain" Pickard hasn't really gotten used to our uhhh wildly INCONSISTENT defense, I'll go with the Flyers with a surprise win in OT, 5-4. They are long ovedue for a win there.

Thankfully Bob looks like he needs to be beamed up.

WTF was with that 2nd goal.

Would have like to seen Pickard make the save on the 1st goal....but Ivan and Folin looked like they were running a Chinese fire drill so I can't be that mad at him...

...but it looked Elliottesque!

Solid period for the Flyers. TK finally gets one and the Flyers scored first!

Hagg, Gudas, and Sanheim had strong periods on the blueline.

Weal’s line had some great shifts, and Giroux looks dialed in. 10 points already.

Keep it going!

Go to see Elliott being sent a message too.

We can't get into a shoot 'em out.  We are allowing them through the neutral zone with no opposition.

Is every team in the league faster than the Flyers? Bluejackets blew right by Flyers players on their last two goals.

Hak system is all about knowing when to pinch, and the forward getting back to cover for the pinching D man....so honestly it seems to be on the forward or the Dman picking the wrong time to pinch...a hard thing to time at this level with the speed of the game...ala Chip Kelly and the college game not translating to the pro game.

You be the judge.

I'm just the messenger....

Boy, is Pickard channeling with Elliott? We start out well, get a lead, and then get rattled.  Maybe I need to play goal. Occam, I want you on D.

I can do it. I know when to just play the guy and let the puck be.

The Flyer's I don't know they always want to stick check.

I'm taking the body.

Wow Jake gets his pocket picked right as I tuned back in for the 6-3 lead.

I don't know what to say about this team.

I am open for counseling if anyone has the time and a nice couch to lay on....

Pickard's last two goals were pretty soft.  He has doesn't done much to be kept around.  That said, I agree with our broadcast team: Our D has been porous.

This is a house of horrors for the O and B. Three and fourteen.  Yikes.  Bobo....11 wins against us.  Yikes.

How do you spell R E G R E S S I O N from the second half of last year?

Bjorkstrand with the nice steal on Jake.

Hey Flyers could of had him or Duclair who scored the first goal, but they preferred the guy toiling in the AHL and can't crack this laughable lineup in Goulbourne because you can never have enough AHL goons....just saying.

Flyers just the thing for what ails you.

Gave up 8 goals last game to your one?

No problem we'll give you 6 tonight.

is anyone else concerned that we need to score between 6 and 10 goals a night to win a hockey game?

Get well Neuvy looks like you are still needed.   Can't believe I just typed that.   But even Stevie Wonder can see it...

A couple things.    First, quite obviously the goaltending is atrocious. I know Folin fell and there are defensive breakdowns, but the goalie has got to make some of these saves. If the puck ends up in our net after every mistake, that only begets more mistakes. Quite frankly, we don't currently have an NHL goalie.    2. I know we're beating up on the defense, and in some cases deservedly.  MacDonald has been horrific and Folin worse. His Gritty impression was pathetic.  But the forwards simply are not doing their jobs on the back check.  They will focus on that in the next game and sacrifice offense because they can't do both. They'll fall behind because a mistake ends up in their net and go back to sloppy, lazy backchecking and next thing you know 3-4 goals go against.  You CAN do both. Watching Voracek out for a leisurely skate on backcheck is starting to tick me off, but he's not the only one. The thing is, players like him need to lead by example. Wrong example.    3. People keep saying speed. Maybe that's why they're having issues playing both offense and backchecking.  I don't think so.  I think it's a combination of laziness, being lost, and something systemic.   There was zero hustle in Voracek, for example. That's not speed. It's not coaching or system. It's taking shifts off.    He's not the only one. That's when you start considering coaching. Why are people floating? Why do they look lost?  Why does this team look slower when objectively they're really not?  I don't think Hakstol's game preaches speed.  That's the game now, but I don't think it's our approach.    So, I'm not "It's Hakstol!" but he is part of the problem. A large part.

I've concluded that Hakstol is on the hot seat and he knows it.    1. It started with the Philadelphia Flyers sell job on Hakstol There is an organizational effort to put out fluff pieces showing Hak outside of hockey.    2. Hextall has said he's now focused on success at the NHL level.   3. No matter who's in goal - and this goes back to last year - the Flyers cannot keep the puck out of their net.  So unless Hextall has drafted / developed the slowest collection of players in the NHL and has assembled all of the worst goalies, the problem lies somewhere else, and coaching is definitely an area that is 'easier' to improve and see results quickly.   4. The team looks in disarray. That usually happens towards the end of a coach's tenure.   5. Perhaps the most significant, the media has also turned on Hak. The line of questioning around Knight being another VdV just because they both played under Hak is some bizarro narrative that angry fans make up. But when the media starts picking up on it, and asking him directly? I think that's a sign that even the media has lost faith / respect for the coach. I've seen that happen with previous coaches.    6. It's getting to Hakstol. He's testy in interviews, and looks visibly annoyed. He's more animated on the bench. And I think it's partly due to job pressure that he's facing for the first time as an NHL coach - probably directly communicated from Hextall.    Anyway, I could be completely off, but it sure doesn't feel that way.

It's getting so bad that Gritty may even start cheering for another team!
