Game 14: Flyers at Sharks, 11/3 @ 10:30

Greetings:

The 6-7 Flyers visit the 7-6 Sharks.  The bookies are drawing a blank on this one but statistics give SJ the edge:

The home opening loss, 8-2, might be fresh on the O and B's minds.  That, coupled with two wins in a row, says we may have a good game to stay awake for.

Historically, San Jose seems to have our number:

So let's hope for the best.

I hope this group is in a better place mentally for this team.

Back to back win should help with the we can beat this team mindset.

They need to just continue to grind it out.

They do that they can win.

It would be huge if the Flyers can get two guys going:

Ghost: 1 goal 4 assist in 13 games and -8!!! Disappointing is a understatement. Two assist in the last 9 games!!!!

TK: 2 goals 3 assist in 13 games is very disappointing. 1 point in the last 6 games!!!

I think it is paramount to get these two key contributors finding the twine again.

It's amazing the Flyers are playing this "well" with these 2 underperforming, particularly Ghost.

Yes for real.

And with these two skill sets we've seen no way would i imagine would they struggle for long they are human and it happens.

But once they snap out their funk that could easily add a goal per game to their average...which would go along ways.

I just saw this on our historical record against San Jose, while San Jose seems to play well on Saturday:

he San Jose Sharks are:

  • 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss of three or more goals.
  • 10-3 in their last 13 Saturday games.
  • 9-4 in their last 13 home games against a team with a winning road record.

The Philadelphia Flyers are:

  • 7-20-3 in their last 30 games against the Sharks.
  • 2-9-1 in their last 12 games in San Jose.
  • 0-8 in their last 8 games after scoring 5 or more goals in their previous game.
  • 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win.

I am pleasantly surprised that Folin seems to be stabilizing.

For your entertainment.....enjoy...

“He’s a great partner in the way that he gets back for pucks really quick,” Gostisbehere said. “He takes those heavy hits and the puck squirts out to me. I’m not saying I won’t take hits for him, but he does it a little more often than I do and he makes the easy play when he has to and doesn’t try to complicate too many things. It’s been a good partnership.”

I am one of the few around who like Hagg and understand what he is supposed to bring to the team i found this...

...pretty solid start. And no telling how far they can go once they get Ghost and Sanheim going.

Also i mentioned getting Ghost and TK going would be nice.

Some more from Coots would help too. He just got his 1st assist of the season this past win.

Sean....please they need more!!!!!!!!!!!!

The team is competing and skating.  Pickard has come up with some good stops.  Of course, Pavelski ties it.

Pickard was way out of position on that one.

I hope to God they aren't coaching him to play like that.

Like he's never seen someone fake a shot.
