brelic
Apparently Doughty may be available. Go on, Fletch. He's your Pronger. Signed through 2026-27 at $11M / year. It's so insane that it sounds like something a guy who gave out dual 13-year contracts may do.

Leafs should be interested but I don't know if they can afford him. Maybe they could move Gardnier and Nylander for him. But as I said if i moving assets i would target Parayko due to his age, size and being a right hand shot. Otherwise pass...
OccamsRazor
I also seen the Quick rumors to the Flyers as well. Ek is desperate for clicks. I like Quick just not the length of his contract. I would rather take Crawford he is only under contract for next year at 6 mill which is kind of steep. So which is the better deal... Crawford and Anisimov or Anderson and Stone or Duchene? Hhhhhmmmmmm....

He's on the LTIR, but I have no idea for what or how long. Or ROR? There's your #1/#2C with Coots, and Patrick at 3C.

He has been rumored on the block for a few weeks now. Seems like the Leafs would be all over this. Maybe Armstrong has grown tired of him. Same reason they move Coburn. Sometimes a change does folks good. I don't think he will come cheaply.

I could honestly see him going after Doughty...it would be pure Homer of him to. Provorov/Farabee and a 1st for the tail end of Doughtys career. Swap Provorov for Ghost, and I could realistically see that pitch. Not Provorov though. You know what? I'd take Doughty at 2.5X salary over Ghost 11 times out of 10. He's only 29, so he's got a lot of great years left. Honestly, if that were an actual deal, I'd think long and hard about it. Doughty would be an amazing mentor for Provy, Sanheim, Myers, Hagg, Morin. There's your top 6. Provorov/Doughty Sanheim/Gudas Hagg/Myers Morin

Not sure which you'd send in that deal. Farabee sounds about right. But they may want someone like Frost or Myers or Sanheim.

Maybe they have a Doughty in Sanheim give him more minutes and put him out there with better talent than Lehtera, Weise and Laughton. Who knows what could happen. Who knows what could happen. Possibly but highly doubtful. Even so, Sanheim is not a mentor. He's a mentee. And for all of Provorov's pedigree and early successes, he could use an experienced, talented mentor too. The whole defense could. To get a guy like Doughty, though, the Flyers would have to give up some pieces that probably most people don't want to see go. Honestly, though, there isn't much I'd put as 'untouchable' to get a guy like him. He's 29, not 35 like Pronger. His contract expires when he's 35, I believe, so not like Pronger or a Keith that run into their 40s. Of course, the $11M cap hit is significant. But honestly, there's no one currently in the Flyers organization that I see even being close to earning that kind of contract. Maybe Provorov, but that would be in his late 20s if he's proven himself as a true elite #1. No forward comes close to showing that kind of potential right now. I think getting Doughty would certainly mean the end of Jake.
