Game 26: Blue Jackets @ Flyers; 12/6 @ 7

Recommended Posts

The bookies have this at virtually even:

https://www.oddsshark.com/nhl/columbus-philadelphia-odds-december-6-2018-1021925

CLB, like the Flyers, is actually better away than at home, which doesn't bode well for us.  This is the beginning of the Fletcher Audition Period.  You'd think that's a motivator but only time will tell.

LGF!

Well, the Flyers should be well rested which presents another potential slow start.  Hope they come out and play a physical game.   This one could go either way ...

JVR/Giroux/TK

Lindblom/Couturier/Simmonds

Laughton/Patrick/Voracek

Raffl/Lehtera/Weise

Wouldn't mind seeing that.

I am hoping we see a difference on the influence of Wilson on these young defensemen tonight. It would help.

per Bill Meltzer:

Obviously he hasn't had the time but does Wilson different in his ideology of how to run his defense from murphy/hasktol? How much input does he get in that with hasktol system ?
- Tfaehner

Night and day difference between Wilson's style and Murphy's. Not that one style is better than the other -- either can work or fail, depending on the player -- but Wilson is generally a laid- back, let-'em-play type of coach whereas Murphy is more of an intense type who drives players hard.

It would be nice to get the Nolan Patrick back with some fire in his belly...

...it would help get the 2nd line going....and JVR going too....

It would be really nice for the 2nd line to get going tonight to take some pressure off the top line.

JVR has 4 points in 9 games 9 (3 of his 4 points coming in one game). It is time to answer the calling.

Patrick and Simmer you two could always help by chipping in as well. Please feel free.

Simmer you are playing for a new contract time to show your new boss you deserve it.

Guys lining up to do business with the Flyers.

I wouldn't mind take Dansk off the Knights hands.

Very interesting.  I wonder what the hell Botteril is up to? I am sure he sent one of his henchmen, I doubt he is there.  But on the other end of a phone for sure.  What if we offered you Scandella and Rodriguez for whoever they want?  Would you consider it?

Wow I just stop the chrome cast to watch the goal Stolie gave up which he should have had and come back and it's 2-2!

I hope that this game doesn't end 2-1.

Bob looks shaky.

Damn Laughton misses a easy goal then takes a stupid penalty.

Hard to watch Pettersson light the NHL on fire with 25 points(14 goals) in 25 games...       ...and then we watch Patrick and JVR (who is signed for 4 more years) display absolutely zero chemistry...ZERO!   And i don't understand JVR/Patrick/Simmer on the same line who play such similar games...

Let's look at this a bit closer...    #2 overall pick 2007 - JVR 2008 - Drew Doughty 2009 - Victor Hedman 2010 - Tyler Seguin 2011 - Gabriel Landeskog 2012 - Ryan Murray 2013 - Aleksander Barkov 2014 - Sam Reinhart 2015 - Jack Eichel 2016 - Patrik Laine 2017 - Nolan Patrick 2018 - Andrei Svechnikov   Anyone from that list you would rank below Patrick and JVR? Murray is the only one, I'd say.   Svechnikov has more points than Patrick, and he's an 18 year old rookie.    And from Patrick's draft year, Hischier is ahead of him (almost double the production), but also Pettersson and Heiskanen (as a D-man), and both those guys are rookies this year.   You could say the common theme is that we had the #2 pick in poor draft years... or you could say the common theme is the Flyers.

Yes, but then he stayed in no man's land, staring off into space. He was in a position to cover no one at that point.    Bad pass from Couturier initially, but then bad decision on coverage by Provorov.

He was cherry picking is what he was doing...and they lose so it's on all 3 of those guys...not sure why you wouldn't start Giroux out here so he can play the most during OT if it when the distance....isn't of the sloth Coots....
