Well a huge test coming off a big win yesterday.

Can they do it again against a rested Jets team.

I hope Stolie is up for it i think he gets tested today.

I think Stolie goes again. Not sure if they want to give Neuvy his first start vs. this team.

Flyers power play comes in at 13.9 percent (11-for-79, 30th) with four shorthanded goals yielded. The penalty kill enters at 73.3 percent (53-for-86, 30th) with two shorthanded goals scored (Dale Weise at Pittsburgh on Dec. 1, Giroux in Buffalo on Dec. 8).

Flyers PK we have know to be bad for awhile now but it has gotten better actually since Hextall got shown the door.

So the PP to me is the big shocker.

Maybe Knoblach needs to be shown the door next even before Lappy.

You look at this PP lineup and no way they should be this impotent.

If they have any intentions of climbing in the standing now that they have seemingly have found a goalie (Elliott I hope you like being a backup) the PP has to be paramount in needing to be fixed.

They are wasting chances to to help give them some cushion in these games.

Per Bill Meltzer:

Looks like Varone is just a practice pylon.

Why would an AHL vet ever sign with the Phantoms they will never ever get a cup of coffee....

Greetings:

Here is Winnersandwhiners take:

https://winnersandwhiners.com/games/nhl/12-9-2018/philadelphia-vs-winnipeg-prediction-7268/

Note that we are 1-4 on the road against teams with winning records.  It appears Neuvy gets the start, which is high-risk from my vantage.  Winnipeg plays well against the east; we split with them last year.

Yesterday we saw a team with some scoring pizzazz and grit.  What will we get this afternoon?  Sorry I won't be able to watch ; I'll look forward to your posts.

It's a helluva a test for Neuvy to get back in action.

I hope he is up for it or it could be ugly and over by the mid point of the 2nd period.

I hope they can stay out the box since they can't score with the man advantage themselves.

And taking them penalties yesterday is what broke up the rhythm in the 2nd versus the Sabbers!

It would be nice to get Pateick going.

Jets with the first goal, but that aside, Winnipeg D looking less than impressive here... Flyers seemingly passing the puck at will even in the offensive zone.
Problem with Philly right now...no one is finishing.

Also, is it just me, or does Travis Konecny seem to have EXCELLENT anticipation skills?
I mean, I am watching him specifically, and he seems to always be right where the puck is going rather than waiting around for someone to get it directly to him.
Nice to see...mark of a very good NHL player.

His name isn't bandied about as much as some other young players on this team with regards to being cornerstones of an upward trend for the team, but he should be, I think.

Konecny has really impressed me evem moreso with what he has done just as much when he doesn't have the puck, in anticipating and finding open lanes to get the puck. I think THAT is a harder skill to learn for a very young NHLer.
