Is this the final concussion for Corey Crawford?

Recommended Posts

Corey Crawford missed the final 47 games of last season after suffering a concussion. Crawford was the heart of the Hawks who were sitting on a bubble as Crawford was winning games that the team was badly outplayed in, once he went out they went down faster than the temps on Lake Michigan in January.

Now he has suffered his second concussion in less than a tear and the rumors are that this one may again derail his season and the whispers have begun that like Marc Savard, Chris Pronger, Johan Franzen and many more the concussions may be a sign of the end of the line for him.

Contract wise Crawford has this year and next remaining at an average cap hit of 6 million per on a team that is living in cap hell. The net is now turned over to over the hill Cam Ward and ECHL veteran Collin Delia which is a bleak prospect at best.

It was the flukiest of plays as his head was driven into the post as teammate Dylan Strome and Shark Logan Couture came flying in towards the net. Strome bowled over his own goalie.

I truly would not be surprised based of Coach Jeremy colliton's comments if Crawford is indeed done for the year at the least.
